Squealing Noise and Oil to the Rockers

Here's what the noise was on my engine at the front. I'd pull the pan.

I hate the thought of dropping the pan with the motor still in the car. Hate the thought more of pulling the motor again. When I did the stethoscope this morning, I heard nothing with it underneath on the block or the oil pan - only when I probed the timing cover - nowhere else. It HAS to be something simple. I can't see brand new bearings sized to the crank and caps - professionally - going bad like this. This was a professional and very reputable shop that I took it to. The owner is in business for 30+ years. when we assembled the engine, we used plasti-gauge for every rod.

I hope it's something simple.

Is the seal damaged. Looks like the spring isn't in where it suppose to be. Kind of blurred.

Grease both the seal and dampner real good when reinstalling. If possible, leave the bolts loose on the cover when installing the dampner through the seal. Keeps the seal from getting pinched. I know it's a lot to do at one time but it can help.

Why is the timing cover all chewed up? That looks like the cam is walking forward and the bolts are getting into the cover.

Thanks = will do. i am hoping that the squeal will be gone this weekend. If it's a rod bearing again, this car is going off a cliff :)...just kidding, I love it too much.

Yeah, I stole that pic off the www. Lol I didn't even see the scaring from the cam bolts. Looks like someone has some problems!

One more thought, how hard did the dampner come off the crank? It should have quite a bit of resistance coming off and on.
When doing mine, I didn't think it was going to go all the way but it did.
