1967 coronet restomod/pro touring build

NICE!

Cannot wait to see that motor....
THANKS Justin, I'm hoping I get a call sooner telling me it's ready, but they have to do some clearance work for the pushrods and waiting for my custom grind cam from LSM to come in. In the meantime I have to take my *** down the street to COPE racing trans and go pick up my transmission so I'm ready to drop that baby in as soon as I get it.

Got a little done last night, put the new flex joint rod ends on for the 4 link, flex lines for the calipers, and rear distribution block. Still have to run the hard lines but after that, that will wrap up the rear of the car and plumbing. Got some
Nice little caliper line brackets from RMS that bolt to the U bolts. Had a set back after I pulled the old lower link and spring hanger bracket while reinstalling the new Lower link I broke one of the studs, probaly shouldn't have been using my ingersoll 20v impact to tighten it up, so I had to take it all apart again press out the old stud and luckily I had my old spring hangers with the studs still in it so I removed one from there, cleaned it up and installed one into the new hanger.

Man that looks sweet! I bet you can't wait to test it out!

The old impact mistake, been there and done that.....I tighten everything by hand after having a couple rut rooh moments...

Thanks Justin, ya can't wait to take her for a ride. there's some tight spots In there and after the 15/16" wrench slipping and splitting my head open I grabbed the impact out of aggravation and snap goes the spring hanger stud lol, live and learn.

Ok guys decided to start a build thread for my project, a bit delayed since I'm started already but better late then never.

A little background: pretty solid car my dad built about 8 years ago he fell on hard times and was going to sell it so I decided to buy it from him (bastard charged me 14k lol). I drove it for a couple years and Now I'm going through and upgrading everything, motor, trans, rearend, brakes, suspension, etc...

Motor is being professionally built by Chicago connection, it's a 440 block with eagle 505" rotating assembly, forged Crank, diamond racing flat top pistons with valve reliefs. H beam rods. Trick flow power port 240 heads, comp XR286R solid roller cam 286/292 .576/588, Harland sharpe roller rockers, haven't decided on intake yet either trickflow track heat or M1 most likely. Holley sniper EFI. Calculated compression should be 11.9:1ish should make 600+ hp. For the trans I'm undecided as of now but cope is local for me so I'm leaning towards using him. I just ordered a strange s60 (from dr diff) with 4:10 gears, 35 spline axles, s trac differential and chromoly yoke. for rear suspension I have a 4 link from Reilly motor sports. street lynx with Viking double adjustable coil overs and inboard mounts to clear a bit more room for rear tires. Addco sway bar. Front suspension I haven't started yet but I plan on going with poly bushings, Viking shocks, and a sway bar for now will do tubular control arms next year. I have the rear brakes already wilwood 12.19" rotor 4 piston caliper. Front brakes I'll probably go with the 6 piston caliper. Don't have wheels and tires yet but I'm leaning towards weld s71 18" all the way around, also an extra set with slicks for when I go racing. That's about it for now I'll attach some photos of before I tore it apart and where I currently stand. feel free to follow my journey and any advice would be appreciated.

Like the car, LOVE THE SCOUT!

Thank you buddy, we're going to start on the scout soon!
Dedicate a build thread to that. I love Scouts. They are by far the coolest 4×4.

What sort is it? Power plants. Are you you g to stuck with the original motor?

I've been told the ones with Isuzu diesels were really weak but would last forever

I have a buddy who has a good parts truck. He's gladly part with it. But you'd need to come get it. If your looking. 345 runs probably only the Powertraunand axles are worth saving. Old postal truck.

I'll ask him but he had a donor truck already I think he has everything he needs for it, just some rust repair needed.

Received this picture in a text message this morning, 3 day turnaround for custom cut billet specialties wheels. These are the rears, hopefully I can get tires mounted and balanced today then I'm going to go fit them in the car see how it looks.

Got the rear wheels mounted, they were a bitch to get on but they just fit in the stock wells. 275/60/15 Hoosier dot drag radials had to drop the shocks and deflate the tires to get them on but it looks great. Was going to fab the hard brake lines but I had the wrong size fittings and after the kid at advanced auto stared at his bin of fittings for 10 minutes I called it a night. I'll order the correct fittings from summit and wrap that up next week.

What are the exact specs on those rims? I would be curious what the width and back spacing are. I am running a 8.5" Centerline with 4-7/8" back spacing and am looking to change. If there is something that would be a better fit with the 275x60-15's I am all ears. I am running 255x70-15's as the 275's won't fit in the wheel wells on my rims.

Those are 15x7 with 4.5bs. IMO I think that's about as big as you can get with no rubbing and not Jacking up the rear of the car.
