Lurking for a while. Always wanted a 69 or 70 4 spd B body convertible. Prices seem to have come back a bit more into my budget. Just saw this one at Gateway, had a look at the options, not sure about the hood. Whats everyones thoughts on the car. Found a few on Craigslist for $40-50k over past 3 yrs but always auto.

Hood has been added. No N96 on the tag.

Solid looking ride, quarter scoops also were added as they are also not on the list (M46).
Price is hard to say for me, but here in europe that car will be more expensive in that condition.

It looks pretty nice and complete. I'd like to see it with the windows up, so see ho well they fit to the top?
I have one of the 4-speed 1969 Coronet R/T convertibles. I bought it as a non-numbers matching car, and it needed work and was missing some parts.
Mine had the manual 4-wheel drum brakes, power steering, and power windows.
It sounds like this car does not have the original engine either? They do not mention if the trans or axle are original either?

If it is as solid as it looks, and does not need rust or body work, it could be well worth the $60,000? They are pretty hard to find. Even the Coronet 500 convertibles are hard to find, and they are still fairly expensive?
The manual steering seems kind of odd?
Maybe someone on here knows the cars history? There used to be a coronet registry web site, but it seems to be gone now?
Galen Govier may also have the car in his registry?

Nice car. 69 veRTs are IMO the most beautiful muscle car bar none!

I've been tracking 69 R/T verts for about 15 years.

The car was at BJ in 2007. I didn't look at the pics in detail but it has a badly remade fender tag.

60 K for a nicely redone legit four speed is not out of line.

I thought Rally Dash w/ tic tachometer was standard on all coRoneTs?

The fender tag does look like a repop. The question is if the car is rebodied where just the dash might be from an rt. You would have to look at the vins stamped in the rad core support and trunk lip
Either way, even trying to build a clone, you would likely be in the same price range.

Nice looking and I guess you could say it's priced fair to the market.

I had some really long phone conversations with Gateway last year year around Thanksgiving. It was a 70 GTX priced around 35 that needed some TLC here and there and showing it's age from a 'freshening resto' back in the late 1980s. A friend of a friend checked the car out. They would not even entertain a offer other than full asking price, which I can't blame them as the car sold a few weeks later. This car will probably sell for asking price.

That car might not be looking so good now. I think they were the ones who just had a major fire.

The '69 models will have only the last 8 digits stamped in the rad core support and trunk lip, in this case it should be G9 142658, which will not tell you if this is R/T (WS) or 500 (WP) for example.
Ralley dash was optional indeed on R/T's.

Imo the fender tag is a reasonable good copy, saying copy as it is obvious not an original as it is as new without signs of corrosion or the well known bend in the l/h side fastener area.

Gaterway ALWAYS prices their Mopars outrageously high & this one almost seems reasonable. Something is very fishy.

It's missing codes. Compare it to yours.

Fwiw....this car does appear to be one sold in Canada. (B VON) so it would be one of the, approximately, 57 built for sale out of the US.

I know very little about legit vs phony fender tags but I can see at least 1 huge deviation from original with this one.

Compared with the car it's missing codes.... or these things were not original on the car.

To me a fender tag with "missing" options is most likely more honest compared to one that is stamped full of options. (unless a build sheet can confirm that)
They added some things but at least they did not make it look like original.

I havent been following prices. Really it is just what someone will pay,and the seller accept. For the asking price, you need to inspect the car in person. To me the car looks like an older restoration with maybe a fresh paint job. At that price any rust needing repair would really hurt the value. I will send a pm if you want to talk.

I just picked this up a few weeks ago. It's a clone R/T with a 318 and factory air. I am more a GM guy but this caught my eye back in Oct 2016 and I had been working on buying it. Finally a bought it in mid July. I can't stop looking at it! It's such a great color combo. Older restoration but is an awesome driver. Bigger than my 71 Chevelle SS convert(clone also) and my big concern was fitting it in my garage. It definetly needs a big block and better brakes. Will convert to front discs over the winter and maybe a 440 if not to hard or expensive to swap. It looks like it has 11 inch drums up front. I thought they came with 10 inch. I am also looking for a console whether an original or aftermarket. I go to Lake George NY every year for the Adirondack National car show and it's a 3 hour drive so I need some cup holders. Any suggestions? By the way what would you value my car at. It only really needs to be wet sanded to fix some of the imperfections in the paint. I agree with you on the prices of these cars. They are really taking off. Of the 1500 made how many can possibly have survived. I bet less than half. It would take quite a bit for me to sell this one. But i do miss my Chevelle, and my 73 Cuda, and my 86 Grand National.....
