Folding A100 seat ????

I've had my 64 Plymouth Savoy for 5 years now and this spring purely by accident we were going somewhere with a 3rd passenger and they pushed on the passenger seat and it folded forward......I thought we broke it but have now discovered it's hinged.........we had the car at moparfest this weekend and found out this is rare.........can anyone chime in on this as to why the seat was hinged.........just curious

My van seat won't do that, they will only tilt pivot from the front mounting bracket. I would think that Mopar maybe did do something to the seats they put in cars so people could get into the back seat, but I don't know? Interesting?

If it was in a pickup then it stands to reason why the seat would fold forward to access storage behind the seat.

Maybe, I know in the van they tilt from the front mount, I'm sure it's the same for the PUP's as well. Why would Mother make something different to spend more $$$ and have more parts? Think interchange. Maybe a different marque?
