it's been tanked and checked for cracks.it's stock bore and dated 11-19-71.this is the most desireable block if you're building a stroker.800.00 and pick up in ga.30052 at this time.will ad pics when i get a new camera.pm me here or call or text 678-542-9138 if interested,thanks
 
OK so I'll bite, what's a cold weather block? I've never heard of it.
 
google it.pretty interesting.made for cold weather hence the name.thickest block mopar made.or so they say.hard to come by.
 
Very thick main webbing makes it great for serious power.

OK so I'll bite, what's a cold weather block? I've never heard of it.

1) how does reinforcement in that particular area help in "cold weather"?
2) how in the hell would anyone know when the block is cast that it will see "cold weather".
3) how would you know in advance what sales of that specific CID will be in a "cold weather" place so you could produce the right amount of blocks?
4) if this was designed for a specific application, where and how else is the block marked so when it came time to install the engine assembly worker would say "Nope. Not the hot weather one. We need the "cold weather" block for this car."
 
Also look at the reinforcement on the walls below the casting numbers. Earlier 383 and 440 blocks don't have that.
Not all 230 block are the thick ones. Around the end of Nov 71 they came thinner. I'm thinking 11-21-71 was the change date. This one is a late casting.
 
i compared it to the other bb i had and is definitely thicker.
 
it's a thick block but not the mega block.thanks for the education guys.
