Hi everyone, I'm Dave and I'm new to the group.
I've got a 1963 Fury convertible with a 318 in it. It's a fantastic car, runs great, very comfortable to drive. But......

I have found some cancer on it. The front floorboard is going to have to be replaced and the torsion bar crossmember is going to require some attention as well. Is there any companies that offer a replacement crossmember? AMD only seems to have them for 66+. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but will that crossmember work or is it just different enough that I'm out of luck?
Also, anyone who has tackled floors and crossmembers WITHOUT doing a full tear down, especially on a rag top, I'm open to any tips you want to give. It's a largely solid car and I don't really want to turn this into a project that will sideline the car for 3-5 years. More looking at this as necessary structural repairs so I can enjoy it as is for another 10 years before embarking on a full resto. Thanks guys.

What kind of attention are you talking, on the crossmember? Maybe a little more detail.
The crossmember is a main structure piece of the frame. (Sure you already realize that)

Floor pans are a usual deal, these days. Just have to go about it right, and yeah, might take a little time.

I have a left side torque box, like new, if your interested.

Welcome to the madness . . . if you have not, please feel free to post up a thread on the welcome wagon forum to introduce yourself and don't forget to add pictures ( the natives here get restless if you don't post pictures )

Started my project with the same plan, get it running to enjoy - then decided I'd rather tear the car down only 1 time and get it done right . . .

Good luck on your project . . .

Welcome from another early B, ragtop, canuck!
I've posted lots of pics of my engine swap that turned into a bit of a project with full floor pan replacement, etc. If you have that much rust in the floor, you likely have water coming in through the cowl area above. It's common on our early B's and what triggered my welding adventure!
Look forward to seeing pics of your 63.

Welcome to the early B body world where some parts are not reproduced yet. If the crossmember isn't totally rusted away just weld some new pieces in. At least you can get floor pans. Good luck.
