'67 Coronet R/T - Value guide

I agree with the agree! '66-67 are my favorite years as well. Glad my taste just happens to fit the niche' that seems the most affordable right now. My biggest concern is overpaying for a non #'s matching car because I love everything else about it and getting hammered if and when I go to resell it.

old cars are like CD's...if you over pay..eventually they'll get to that value. 66/67 b- bodies used to sell for 5k and under 15 years ago....10-12k would get a beauty 5 years ago...now look at the prices "asked" on e-bay

Terzmo - A big part of the problem is that people think that whatever they have should command Mecum & Barrett-Jackson type $$$ that they see on TV. They're daydreaming that their #4 or 5 cars are worth #1 and 2 dollars.

Agree 30K is a bit too high, unless it's super, SUPER nice and highly optioned.

There are nice GTX and RT cars asking well below that and NOT selling.

If you want one for 25-27, you can get one, as posted in the links.

Let's clarify "matching numbers" as it pertains to pre- 1968.5 cars.

Before 1968, there is no VIN on the engine block.

What that means is that theoretically any engine block with a casting date a few months prior to the SPD of the car can be considered the "original engine" for the car and not be disputed by 99% of the hobby.

That is a HUGE bonus for us 66/67 guys if matching numbers is of any concern at all.

Conversely, a 1968.5 or newer car can only ever have ONE "matching numbers" engine- the one it was built with that is stamped with the matching VIN to the car.

The next best thing is a date correct warranty block with no VIN, and then a date correct block with a different VIN.

That's why "asked" was quoted as I agree most people are ignorant of the true condition and value of the car they are selling. Their thought process is "if it's old,it's rare and expensive" I've seen so many wide block 318 motors advertised as "Rare" They made that motor since 1957 and there are still alot of them out there.

BUT......there are a few dummy buyers out there who believe the rubbish told to them and pay the big bucks. 32k for a decent R/T is not outrageous in my mind. If a good car I'd try to get it for 28k or less depending on options...fendertag and build sheet. And about 67 on back for matching numbers...I know where there is almost a complete matching numbers block/intake/carb/exhaust manifolds/etc for a 67 B-body.

Guy tells me the manifold gasket needs to be replaced. Grrrr!!! I wonder what other surprises are in store for me?

Just my opinion, but for the kind of money he wants , the only thing you should have to do is adjust the seat to fit you.

Supposedly a 1968 vintage 440 in this 1967 R/T. Please advise as to what looks right/wrong. - Thanks, Bill

Air cleaner is wrong. I've seen this car but can't place it.

Ballast resistor is unhooked too.

I think I looked at this car a couple months ago in North Jersey. PM me some details if you don't want to share here. If it's the car I think it is, the last owner struggled to get mid-low $20's for this car. Red car, black top, black interior, white walls....

1967 Dodge Coronet R/T. 440, automatic, PS, front PDB, buckets, console and A/C. Vinyl roof. Has fresh re-paint. Allegedly, it has a 1968 period correct (?) 440 engine & tranny.

So, how much does the cars worth go down if drive train is NOT original?

Asking price is $32,000

Thanx!

Hagerty valuation guide. I think it is based off real sales and insured values?

Stay the course, brother. She's out there somewhere. (Oh, and as far as "you can't put a price on happiness." Well no, but your wife probably can) :)
