What is the correct color for the steering shaft and coupler which attaches to the steering gear box on a 69 roadrunner? I thought it should be natural steel color but I have also seen black.

Thanks

Depends on the plant....Lynch Road dipped the shaft with coupler in semi gloss.....up to the level of the lower busing

Of course dipping would be a waste of paint but it can be mimicked sprayed...

I use dupli color "low gloss" engine enamel.....Then I use a space heater to bake it per se....

Thanks Justin very nice work.

My car left the St Louis Plant. Any ideas of color?

my ''69 r/t shaft and coupler are untouched from the factory. neither has any coating or paint.

Thank you very much!

It is plant dependant, no question....my 69 charger rt survivor from hamatrak was no paint...

In relation to the St Louis plant I am not sure, I just never restored a car built from there....

I can certainly ask someone who will know it just may take a day or two...

Justin if you could let me know that would be great. Thanks
