So I have the original radiator in my 70 roadrunner. The radiator that does our big radiators for school buses where I work quoted me 250-500 over the phone I'm pretty sure it's been repair before along time ago. My question is has anyone had theirs redone and how much did you pay?

That's about the going rate for brass/copper recore.

Had two done locally in the past couple years. None under $500.

Paid $400 to have mine done at the local guy who is suppose to be good.He crushed the reservoirs, used wrong core and twisted core in frame. Glen-ray is the way to go, get it done once and right, best money I ever spent. You will be happy with his work and he is a gentleman to do business with...

My local the now-defunct San Jose Radiator on Park Avenue, charged a fortune. When installed, it leaked. Had to take it back out for him to fix it. Heartache and bullshit. So far so good.

Another vote for Glen Ray. Mine was 600 but that was a few years ago. Come back factory correct in every way.

I've had numerous "Original" radiators re-cored
$500 to $600
Copper is expensive but I believe it is the BEST option
1. My Original Hemi radiator
2. My GTX radiator
3. My AMC Gremlin radiator
4. 2 Pontiac radiators
5. Original Corvette (1978) radiator

My 67 440 coronet rt was 400
My 74 440 truck was 400
My 72 440 b200 was 425

They all have 26" radiators and i had hi efficiency 3 row cores (supposed to be equal to a 4 row) installed in all of them. And had the height of the van radiator made a little taller

Another for Bob at Glenray. You won't find a better guy to do business with. He will make it right for you no matter what. Had my AC heater core redone and new Chrysler authorized repro for the 26" radiator (long story I could have had mine recored but this was cheaper and I can't tell the difference between the new and old. It is a perfect copy down to the date coding)

I wanted my original rad back in the car (it's been out since 1990) so Glen-Ray was the only way to go. My FK5 '70 Cuda is pictured on their website. Perfect job and as others said great people to do business with.

Yup my Coronet is on the website as well!

All hail Bob at Glen Ray!!! They were the only place that had an original tank for my 28 inch radiator, yes, that's correct my 73 has factory 28 inch rad, and they basically built me a brand new one because the core and both tanks were beyond repair, and worth every penny!!!!

Mine is a 73 Charger 26 inch original, never been repaired or leaked, however I do believe it is not cooling as it did even 10 years ago, I called Bob and it would be worth the rebuild my tanks are in great shape and it is the original that came with the car, so 750.00 quoted on the phone plus shipping for me and him so around 850.00 but it will never have to be done again as long as I am alive.

If you are not doing a matching number remember that the more frontal area the better, even better than more cores then think fins per inch or core heat transfer
think btu's
Many Mopar core supports support bigger radiators and there are alternate core supports
using a 6 cyl or 318 core support for a big block is a lost cause (without a sawzall)
I am using an Imperial radiator in my Dakota...

I have a 70 roadrunner and went with Champion aluminum two row but with bigger cores, works great even with add on air conditioner ( KEEP WIFE COOL TOO) cruising south east Louisiana summer time and cruising the coast in October.
