MODERN RADIO WITH CLASSIC LOOK

I bought one. I have been waiting for my wiper motor to be finished before I install it. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I installed a Hermosa radio in my 63 having the tricks like USB, blue-tooth but my big want was the usb for flash drive tunes. I've been happy with it so far. I made a cardboard template for the bezel and a buddy working at a machine shop made up an aluminum dash bezel for me from the template. There was no needed hacking on the dash my preference. Shaft mount radios aren't all that common for mopars especially with the usb and priced reasonably. If I had my druthers seeing 65-440's post I'd a looked at the rick's radio option he did to have a original radio look. I didn't come across this site when hunting down a radio. Otherwise have no complaints with the Hermosa..

Yep. I'm not a fan of altering an original radio & hacking away at the dash.

Very nice!

I have a very nice AM unit for my car that I was going to have converted, but this seems too stupid easy.

Altering an original radio so you can actually listen to music, sounds like a no brainer to me. Who in the hell turns their original AM radio on to listen to the static ? Otherwise is just for looks, might as well make it function and enjoyable ! No hacking away of the dash needed either !

There are a few AM stations I listen to, mostly news & talk radio. I do pick up a few radio stations but mostly everything is in Spanish or Religious stuff.

I don't have any intention of using the AM band, everything I listen to comes from an aux source. :)

The usb connection was what I wanted and needed a shaft mount though the hermoa I bought has a ton of other stuff I'll never use on it. Lot's of wires dangling around so made up a plexiglass plate that is bolted under dash to hide all the connectors and the usb rather than the usb dangling under the dash or than try to find spots to wire-tie them under dash. Would a been nice if they had the usb port on the radio face like some have; but one usb can contain endless tunes so not a big deal..

Do you have the factory radio in the car ? Just have the internals changed out for modern electronics. Both my cars have this done, factory radio with AM/FM/USB/AUX and Bluetooth ...

I agree. Have your original sent to Rick or http://wardsclassiccarradiorepair.com/ or www.turnswitch. You can't go wrong with anyone of these. For the same money, basically, they'll convert the internals to modern FM, USB, and or can plug in a Iphone.
