WAITING on pics,,,,, patiently!

Thinking about heading up Saturday from SoCal. Anyone know of a good place to stay nearby with some bars, restaurants, etc.? Rancho Cordova or stay somewhere in Sac? Is the swap meet pretty good? Wondering if I should drive the truck (diesel hog) or take the little Mazda SUV (half the fuel cost. More beer $$$!).
Hey there....Pete?

That black 70 Charger was there to make a few passes down the strip. I liked seeing it because it was in about the same shape mine was when I bought it in 2000. Decent body, nice grill too. Just for fun, I looked at the dash VIN. The car was 32 numbers earlier than mine. These two cars could have been built the same day at the same assembly plant. I thought that was pretty cool.
I wussed out though. I could have raced if I had worn pants and brought a helmet. It was a warm day, 99 when I left at 3:30.

vtadmax. Up from Ventura.

The Little Red Wagon truck is owned by a Capitol City Mopar Member know as "not enough garage" on other sites. Gracious hosts with burgers and chow. Sites, sounds of Big Block Mopars doing burnouts, and the smell of race gas on a nice breezy day. Perfect.

Very bummed, spent all nite on the pot. Must have eaten something bad. 6:30pm now and I am just starting to feel ok. I was really looking forward to making a few passes in the GTX.

Thanks Dennis H and Kern Dog for letting me hang out for the day. It was a great day. Nice, mellow event. The track seemed very laid back. Nice not to deal with huge crowds.
