Hey everyone, I'm a New member

Welcome from NC! Nice score! Keep us posted on the updates! Getting another one back on the road!

Welcome. Nice looking ride!

You could prob get the dipstick from summit or Napa or a scrap yard.
Or go to the mechanical parts forum and start a WTB thread.

Post some detailed pics of the lower corners of the window when you get it finished. I'm just curious but it seems that the gap between the trim and window in the lower corners is large in many 68-70 b-bodies.

Perhaps that's why there's frequently rot below the rear window.

Welcome from coastal Georgia. Nice score. Good job all around!

Since you are in the area, are you going to delete the vinyl roof and associated trim?
No one knows everything.
I always have to tell owners of a 69 500 that it was my first car.
I like um.

I have a vinyl top that came with the car, I'm just gonna wait to put it on till I can have it painted. I like the look of the vinyl top.

Did you want me to send pics after the window is in without the trim pieces on? Or with the trim pieces back on and it's all put back together?

Great job on fixing the back window rot. Its going to be a nice car when you are done.
Look real close at the dipstick hole to make sure someone didn't snap it off flush with the block. Ive seen this happen a couple of times.
When you install the new dipstick tube put it in the freezer for a couple of hours, the tube will shrink a little. Put a tad of sealer on it sometimes you can slip it in. If not grab an open end wrench I want to say 3/8" and put open end on the lip and take a hammer and tap the wrench by the tube that way it should go in straight and not look mangled. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the tip! I will try that one for sure

welcome from London ont good job patching next one will be a little easier

Cool Coronet project

welcome to FBBO

Great Coronet you picked up. Congrats!!!. Looks like a great start to a great car.

All the better. Good score. We have plenty of Bees and R/T's. 500's are really less common and sweet with those wheels and trim. Many are 318's. You got the real deal. Make sure everything works and drive and enjoy.

Yup for every one BB there were about 10 318's. Mine is a '68 A/C 318 but I love her just the same :)

If you want to see how you can get sucked in way to fast here is my years project on my '68 500........

Welcome and congratulations on your Coronet. I have a 69 Coronet 440 that looked identical in color, drive train, condition and mileage as your when I got her! She has changed tremendously since I got her and the process still goes on to this day. Hope to see your end product, I know you will treat her well. We are moving today and my car gets loaded on the moving van headed to Denver Colorado, our new home! Mocajava
