Throttle Safety Spring?

Is there a outfit that specializes in carburetor springs. I've searched and found outfits that make factory correct springs for certain vehicle applications but I'm looking for a lenth and size of 9/16" x 9 to 10" with no luck. None of the universal spring kits go to that size.
Good question....I was wondering the same....
 
Not on a mopar but I basically matched the tension weight on the mustang and one that fit inside the outer.
You could use a fish scale and see what the tension is...

I'm wondering more if it has to do with over all spring tension rather than the second one being there for safety.

So then what's the point of the spring on every carburetor throttle rod that returns the primaries to closed?

I've looked at them. They are vehicle specific and are too short for the application that I want. I had to research different vehicles and find out what lenth and diameter each one was. I have the correct lenth on the car now but I want one with a larger diameter to go over it.
 
To get back to the original question of this thread........

I did the double spring thing on mine as well. Just don't remember where I got the spring. I think it was out of a spring assortment pack purchased at Advance maybe?
