71 GTX worth ?

Wheels and tires are NOT on a fender tag. Need Broadcast sheet for that. If it's the GK6 car that your looking for pricing on here's my 2 cents. Non Matching engine is a hit, underhood details are very wrong. The trunk is restored like a Chevy with splatter paint so that's another big hit. Body/paint looks very nice and the little bit of the interior that can be seen looks nice. The mistakes underhood and trunk make me nervous on what else is done wrong??? What is the bottom of the car like??
I would put value between 25-30 unless you can show a highly detailed underside.

We did the engine bay by pictures we found on the internet. Other than the radiator. We was told that some came w/ splatter paint in the trunk. My uncle bought the car from my dad in 1980. When my dad bought it as a "barn find" other than the engine. Other than the rt. quarter the body, floors & frame are all original to the car & they were very nice. We didn't go as far as to put all the crayon & paint markings on but its as close as your going to get. We did find the build sheet. I don't remember the wheel code off hand. I decoded the build sheet & fender tags. I will look up the wheel code.

Trunks were never painted Splatter Paint since 1965 or so. Must be body color, here's a quick rundown underhood using that one picture. I don't say things just to say I use years of knowledge:

Oil fill cap shouldn't be Black
Alternator new style
Alternator mounting brackets
Hose Clamps
1972 up Air Cleaner assembly
No Breather tube
Battery
Battery tray shouldn't be Black
Master Cylinder
Booster
Wiper Motor shouldn't be Black
Distributor Cap shouldn't be Black
Dip stick
Dip stick tube shouldn't be painted
Throttle spring bracket shouldn't be Black
Wire separator brackets shouldn't be Black
Wire separators should be Orange
Fan Can't see if there is a shroud
Ground strap on firewall
Intake manifold
Assume Carburetor

If you want to do a contours job yes on some things. Not to throw anyone under the bus, but we got some things from Tonys parts. They guy knows is stuff. The air cleaner for one thing. Im not saying your wrong or right but your gonna have to do some proving on some things

I provided you with some really basic restoration inaccuracies, if you think I'm wrong show Tony this thread and my list . Since this car has been with family members for so long they should be telling you that the trunk was body color when found in that barn in 1980 not splatter paint. Don't believe you have a 72 aircleaner assembly reference this nice chart that Nick compiled years back. http://www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner.htm

Where do you think I got the idea what the air cleaner should look like. I looked again & I cant see whats wrong with it. What am I missing ?

This is what a 70 and 71 A/C looks like, look at the right snorkle on yours. You have a 72 model.

I read Nick's site further and it's saying that 71 could have the curved line on right snorkel but that's not how I was taught so aircleaner isn't an issue going by his write-up.
