Excited but nervous

Should I physically wait to see it loaded up? What if that's not feasible because of timing?

Sorry for the stupid questions, never bought anything off eBay, let alone from a distance.

It needs work, but I knew that going in. Dark burnt orange. Just a 383 auto car, nothing special. but thanks!

Welcome from NW CT. "...nothing special"???? It's a Mopar - of course it's special! Great score man and good luck. Please keep us posted on the progress...

Looks like a lot of TLC will be required Mike. I just returned from Philly Tuesday to my home in west Michigan with a 1965 Coronet 440 I purchased. I spent just over $700.00 on fuel (94 Dodge V-10), 2 nights motel, and road tolls. I didn't count meals as I always eat!

Do you have a paypal account? I think that may be the safest route in terms of private money exchange. I had someone in another country buy a car I sold for my father in law. That buyer sent payment in full through paypal and a truck showed up and took the car away. Pretty easy.

In listing buyer states cash/money order/cashier's check. I have reached out to them for arrangements.

WTG and keep us posted. I bought my car thru craigslist and hired an inspection thru a company out there. They handled the whole transaction. I wired the funds to their bank & then they took care of the rest. Rather than getting a shipping company definitely get an independent driver with a closed container.

Also, make sure the car is insured BEFORE it's picked up. Not sure who your using but Haggerty is the way to go.

Okay good call on the insurance as well. I've used hagerty before. What kind of company handles that transaction? I like the idea of a 3rd party.

In my case the inspection company took care of the whole thing. I think your best angle is to find a transport company that will pay the owner at time of pick up.

Intercity transports was who I used. Minneapolis to LA right to my door. Reliable, they own their own trucks and they’re covered carrier. Would easily use them again. Does the car run?

Welcome to the sight. Good luck with your transaction. Keep us posted.

Welcome & nice purchase. I like it. It is in a lot nicer condition than my 70' Road Runner project car. Good luck with it & keep us posted on the updated/progress.

Welcome & good luck with the 70 RR build

Welcome to Mopar heaven !!!!!

I bought my second 70 Satty ragtop from a guy in Iowa. . I used a 3rd party escrow service. Basically, I sent them the money. They informed the seller they have my money. He shipped the car. I tell them I received the car and all is good. They released the money to the seller. Everyone was protected. I think it cost 1-2% of the selling price. I think it was escrow.com.

As for shipping, I would go as cheap as possible and don't worry about putting it on an open carrier. The car is in rough shape and needs total restoration so anything other than major damage is not an issue. Just insure it for your total costs (shipping, escrow service, etc), so if it does get totaled, you get all your money back.
