The previous owner welded front and driver seat bump/stop plates to the roll bar behind both front seats. The car was raced and I believe the seat bumps/stop plates allowed the driver to sit more forward while also touching the plate for stability.
I would like to remove them carefully so the new seats can slide all the way back. Seeing how I have never worked with a welder is there a relatively clean and simple way to remove them? I plan on respraying the bar black and possibly covering the area with a roll bar pad if necessary.
