OK,

So i'm really gonna jump in and do this. I just purchased a 70 R/T that needs to be restored. I know I cant do body work and I'm looking for someone that can do outstanding work. Im will to spend the money to get the perfect job but I expect the perfect job. Anyone out there that can truely recommend some one that has seen their work first hand and would totally trust them to do their own car if having the chance? Currently the car is in the Southeast but I would ship it almost anywhere if I had to. I live in Indiana. I currently have a 71 cuda that was restored by ALOHA and if anyone knows who they were, then they know I expect nice work. Any solid referrals would be appreciated.

Dynamic Rides in Kearney Nebraska is my choice. They did the body and paint on my car. They are not a Mopar specific or stock restore shop but will do whatever you are willing to pay for. They have a few cars in magazines this last year.

Sorry to say ALOHA went belly up several years ago. They did a name change and when the Holden GTO came out they were doing conversions to make it look like a 70 Chevelle. It flopped. I think that bankrupt the business.

The Finer Details (Ken Moser, not sure about spelling) is in your backyard in Indiana. I don't know much about him, but have seen his work. Many of his Mopar restorations have taken top awards over the years.

There are a number of shops out there that can do the work that you are looking for. One major thing to take into consideration is that shops of any quality will have a waiting list of 18 months to 3 years out before they are able to take a car in. Secondly, do you only want them to do the car from start to finish or will you be sending them a hull to finish and paint. I know of two shops who will do the paint and body work, but they rather allow the owner or some other shop do the disassembly and reassembly.
The term restoration is highly over used in my opinion. Will all of the components be broken down and replated as original, will the dash be sent out for restoration, will the seat belts be redone, all of the pot metal redone and the list just goes on and on. Not to insult or deter anyone, but the level of doing a restoration is beyond the realm of many shops. That is why there are so few true shops that does the level of work necessary to do an "OE" level of restoration.
Also, be aware that the cost of doing a top notch restoration has basically doubled in the past ten years. I personally would want to use a shop that I could visit the car as it progresses on a regular schedule. But sometimes that is not possible. I also believe that it is not necessary to take the car to a major well known shop to get the desired work done. There are a number of smaller shops out there doing fantastic work that could compete with any of the larger marquee shops. It involves a lots of footwork and seeking out answers to the questions.
The shops listed above do excellent work and you can add the following in no order of preference:
Mark Coates: ABM Restorations, TN.
Tim Ross: MS.
Pat Jerley: PA.
Troy Angelly: IL.
Magnum Restorations, IL.
This site is a great wealth of knowledge and people willing to help. If you need more information, do not hesitate dropping me a private message to help you the get the desired results.

Ken mosier.....and his shop finer details in Indiana top notch Mopar restorer

Whoever you decide to go with I'd do this though: Get progress reports/pictures of work AND details of hours spent and for what from the shop. Also, go by on a regular basis to see the progress and take your own pictures and ASK questions on techniques as well as how that shop is going to resurrect something. DO NOT tell a shop you have deep pockets. MANY shops will take advantage of car owners just to make the $$$.

If you are still looking, check out "Creations By Gemza". They are out of Denver, NC, and their workmanship is 2nd to NONE. Tell them the "T-Man" sent you...
