Cam identification for '73 RR with a 340 4 speed

Question,

I have a basket case '73 RR 340 and the cam (and everything else) is in a milk crate(s).
As I was cleaning the cam, I didn't find any ID numbers in it. Are they any marks, numbers,
etc. that will tell me if the cam is the original? It is a numbers matching car but I don't know
if anyone had their hands in the motor. I don't even know why it is apart, except that there
was some leak stop added to the coolant and that had built up in some of the passages. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have a set of dial calipers, you can measure the lifts. The difference between the base circle
width and the peak height is your lift measurement ( x 1.5 for at the valve height). If it's in the ballpark of .429/.444", it's a stock 340 cam.
If you have a degree wheel and dial indicator available, you could pop it into any (bare makes it easy) small block and map out lift and duration (if you need that much precision).
