1967 coronet restomod/pro touring build

Ordered the right water pump pulley, also snuck billet valley pan rail hold downs into the cart. Hopefully they’ll be here soon. Also debating a few options I have with the trans, hopefully closing in on getting one

Been a while since I did an update or worked on the car, trans is on the way, also got an alternator from a friend here on FBBO. Only thing left to do is install master cylinder and new front brake lines then I’ll get her fired up.

looks like a good trans, watching for the ignition...
I bought it 2nd hand, never been run. Had a member go check it out for me and he says it all checked out, the guy is retired military so that made me feel better about it. Should be here early next week, if it is what the invoice says it is I got a nice trans.

I hope it works out man.

Got some good advice from a couple members so i used PayPal with buyer protection and my credit card, so I should be good but I’d rather the trans just be what it’s supposed to be and not go through the hassle. Worst comes to worst I have an address........

You’ll want a 9.5” body converter over that 8” in your tank. I gained almost 5MPH switching.

I was thinking I might switch out to a different TC, wasn’t sure which size I should go with. I think this one may have a bit too much stall for me anyway, 5500

Got my alternator today from @5.7 hemi thanks buddy

Got it mocked up with the billet brackets, also threw on some billet valley pan hold downs.

That alternator bracket looks awesome but what a PITA to adjust if you have electric fans in front of it. Do NOT over tighten the locking nuts. Just over finger tight with some Loctite blue is all that is needed. Otherwise it takes 45 minutes to tighten the belt. Don't ask me how I know. :)

I’ll have it all set when I drop the motor in, hopefully I won’t have to make many adjustments after that.

I wish you good luck. That's what I thought would play out which is what led me to the lesson I am now able to share. I have come to the conclusion that changing my alternator belt on the roadside is no longer an easy option.

That adjustable heim joint is what adjusts the belt tension, should be pretty simple as I have the same set up on my CVF serpentine belt.

Right, I didn’t think it would be bad even if it does need adjustment from time to time.

As long as you don't over tighten the locknuts you are fine. If you do over tighten them there just isn't enough room to get the two wrenches in there to loosen things without getting the fan out of the way. The leverage just isn't there. Just past finger tight with some blue Loctite and you can do it with some stubby wrenches without taking anything out. It may be easier on some of the later B-bodies, but on a 67 Coronet the radiator sits awfully close to the block.

Looks awesome! What kind of paint did you use on the block???
