I purchased a car a long time ago and finally after chasing problems after some test runs, I have realized after tearing the engine down I got a bad deal. I'm now building a 498 stroker bought from mancini.
Here's my problem, have 1964 max wedge intake with 3705 carbs, took the carbs apart and found this.
Drivers side jets are 120/171 all around with 16-6 metering rods.
Passenger side main jets 120/171
Secondary jets left, 120/389, right 176
16-76 rods.
Obviously passenger side off a different car.
QUESTION: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT JETS AND RODS WERE IN A 1964 3705 CARTER FROM THE FACTORY? And a suggestion how much richer to go from a 440 max wedge with stage 3 heads to a 498 max wedge, 13 to 1, stage three heads.

Help is really needed.

If you do a sesrch for 3705 carter or max wedge carbs on this site, there is all kinds of info. Right now your stuff is all over the place. Those part #s are definately carter part#s . If you need jets. Edelbrock jets will work for you as well as the metering rods. You might want to get 2 metering rod spring kits, you'll probably need the orange springs. I dont have my carter cross reference to edelbrock chart, but if you Google that you'll find info youre looking for.

My problem is I can't find anywhere what the original jets were from the factory, googled and talked to two major rebuilders, nothing out there, I'm thinking of using the jets from the eldenbrock 750 carb but the 3705 ran the same all the way around.

Ok thanks, found what I needed IN that search, thanks.

increasing cubic inches doesn't necessarily mean jetting up. the greater the pressure differential between the top of the carb and under the throttle bores will make the carb more efficient. jets are flow restriction devices. more vacuum may mean more restriction is needed and the opposite for lower vacuum.
