Have been working on taking weight out of my Plymouth during the off season. Part of the weight reduction includes switching to fibreglass bumpers. The rear bumper was ordered from AAR and it showed up last week. A VERY NICE piece that took very little to finish and install. Extremely pleased with it. Check it out guys.

Fit was exactly right, lightweight and sturdy.

Rear bumper is 30 Lbs lighter than the chrome bumper and brackets that came off.

The front bumper was another story but after dozens of hours of work and reconstruction it came out ok. 25 Lbs lighter than the chrome bumper and brackets that came off. Would have saved more weight but it needed lots of work, mat, resin, wood to make something out of it.

Rear bumper is very straight - just the way it came. I'd certainly buy from AAR again in a heartbeat. Will be interesting to hit the scales next season. Expecting to be about 130Lbs lighter next time out.

I have AAR fenders and hood on my dart. Very nice pieces. I’ve been kicking around a glass front bumper and alum brackets myself.

Where did the front bumper come from? Looking for bumpers for my 63 Dodge and don't want to buy twice.

I won't recommend the place that my front bumper came from, it was a bloody mess and most guys wouldn't tackle trying to make something out of it, they would have bought twice. But, when I ordered this rear bumper I also ordered a front one for a buddy with another 64. The front bumper came just as nice as the back one, basically ready to prep and paint. I paid 200 bucks for the front one on my car that should have hit the garbage, while AAR only charges 184 each, plus, they will ship 2 for the price of one. Shipping to Montana was 66 bucks for the pair.

I don't have aluminum welding capability here at home so I made my front brackets out of 1/8 X 2" flat. Here's a pic of the brackets that I made for the front bumper for an idea. I bonded and encapsulated 3/4" plywood to the bumper for the brackets to attach to. The bolts were pressed into the plywood prior to attaching.

Question. Do you guys know if this MSD Pro Power Coil is compatible with the MSD 6 AL?

Haha. If you weren't so damn fast already I would gladly help you out Wooks.

My winter weight reduction plan is simple. My wife drives next year. That’s well over a 100 pound reduction right there.

:D

LOL!! At one time my wife would have been a 100 lb reduction. Gotta say though that she usually cut a better light than me....

That's funny!

As we all have read previously. "All fiberglass needs a little work". Some just need days of work.
