Hey everyone!!!!!

My question is about the grill. Is it stainless steel?
The center section is it white metal or pot metal?
The headlight surround what kind of metal is it? Looks like some cheap tin.
The black paint used on the grill, is what??

I know I can polish the grill to get a chrome like look, but what about the center section and headlight surrounds? Do they need to be chromed??

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!!

My question is about the grill. Is it stainless steel? ALUMINUM.
The center section is it white metal or pot metal? ALUMINUM, pot metal refers to chromed parts.
The headlight surround what kind of metal is it? Looks like some cheap tin. ALUMINUM, it is not cheap aluminum. The best available for 67.
The black paint used on the grill, is what?? Chrysler did not use some Super Paint, as most believe. It was just plain ole black paint.

I know I can polish the grill to get a chrome like look, but what bout the center section and headlight surrounds? Do they need to be chromed?? The RT Center piece is Chrome from the factory. One is on sale on FeeBay. It is repro.
Yes, you can rechrome your headlight bezels, but you will never get the black paint to stick unless it is powdercoated. Very few powdercoaters will do the tedious striping detail required as the paint pattern. Several near NOS Headlight Bezels come up for sale on FeeBay regularly, so you should concentrate on landing a pair and be done...touch up or repaint the black and you're good.

I restore the Surrounds, if you need yours done.

WOW, thank you for all of the info. That is very helpful and I appreciate it very much!!
That surround looks beautiful. I am trying to do everything myself as I am on a budget, but I want to do it right, so if it takes years, it takes years to complete.

You said plain old black paint, is it gloss?? It is difficult to tell on mine as it is so old.
On the surround, what colour is the inside?

There ain't nothing cheap about 67 grill surrounds...try to find a pr someone is willing to let go...

I will try to take some photos of mine. I haven't looked at the surround in years.
Agree nothing cheap about the surround. In my first post I meant to say headlight bezels looked cheap.

just take your time and you can fix em. mine were smashed flat and i fixed em with a whole lot of time and cheap body hammers.a bit of polish time and all good.paint on grill is gloss by the way.

Thanks!!! I have lots of time. I have patients. Did you take before and after photos??

Partsmonsta, when you restore surrounds, what is the coating on the inside? Is it a paint? I’m polishing mine right now but would like to respray whatever coating that is. Can’t find the answer anywhere!

My paint is specially mixed, but you can use DUPLICOLOR WHEEL SILVER (Advanced Auto Parts or order from Jegs/Summit). Spray light coat on first, then another light coat. Three total. Do not spray one thick coat, this paint is designed for light coats built up.

This is exactly what I used to redo mine. It's not perfect but definitely satisfactory.
