Why and when did everyone in the Mopar hobby start using BF Goodrich tires?? Everywhere you look there they are. Even my RR has them on it. Just curious.

They were one of the popular tires of the 80s and probably the only remaining tire from that era that still looks the same. For those that choose to stick with 14 and 15" wheels, these are one of the few to choose from.

I was just curious. I bet 75% of Mopars I see are wearing them. So basically Mopar enthusiasts are keeping BF Goodrich afloat like junk mail is keeping the post office open

I agree, and you have to pay upwards of $50 more per tire for the privilege on having the letters on your tire.

raised white letters. And they look right on 15" wheels. And wear like iron and last for decades.

I've used the BF Goodrich T/A's in the past but felt that the Goodyear GT's then their GTII's looked better but they were discontinued. So for the last three or four years I've gone with Mickey Thompson's RWL radials.

Cooper has a decent selection on the tires. I used 235/60-15"s on the front and 275/60-15"s on the back of my car. Made in the country too.

I also buy Cooper, and they last a long time. I don't like being held up for a style of letters.

I am getting ready to put road wheels on mine and am going black wall. Going after the exact look of this 1970 advertisement.

I prefer the Cooper Cobra's over the BF Goodrich and they even have the white lettering if you so desire. Personal I have mine black side out, but wheatever floats your boat.

I think I'm gonna swap on some Pro Tracs for next season for a more vintage look to go with my Cragars.

Those Pro-Tracs are nice.

Because they don't make Mickey Thomson Indy Profile steel belted radials with RWLs.

I've had a lot of BFGs, have some on my 2500 and aren't too bad...seems like the compounds wear pretty good for what they are....
Got a set of the Pro Trac N50s on mine, look good...still waiting to see how they ride....been using radials for a long time...its been since the late 80s since I've been on a bias and that was on a car that was probably 5-600 lbs lighter....

They are a bit more expensive than comparable Cooper, which I have on both of my B Bodies. I'm not sure why they command a premium as the Coopers are a nice tire.

Coopers are good tires but their tred is pretty agressive. Like a all season. The Radial He's are more closed up. I am disappointed that my 255/60-15's white letters are always discolored. I read a threadsomewhere that there was an issue with those.

We initially bought 16 inch wheels for the car. YOU CANNOT FIND 16 inch white letter tires. Only ones I could find were 14 and 15 Cooper Cobras or BF GoodWrench T/A Radials. I blew a brain cell out trying to find 16 inch white letter tires. There are only a few options to go by if you want white letter tires.

I use white letters from TredWear.com Turn your black wall modern radial into vintage looking tires. The best of both worlds in my opinion.

I've been using bfg t/a's for decades. ride, balance and wear good. I don't like white letters and always turned them in and blacked out the white. I have a set of the corker bfg red lines on one of my cars and really like them. I like cooper tires too and run them on my newer car/truck.

I went with the Mickey Thompsons only because almose everyone else in the world runs BF Goodrich. The M/T's are a little less expensive too.

My GTX came with new BFG TA's on it when I bought it 7 years ago. I haven't even managed 750 miles on the car since then, but now that she's a driver, I must admit the tires actually ride pretty nice.
In decades past, I never had them on any of my cars. My experience was (back then) that they were hard to keep balanced and rode stiff.
Not these. Nice tires, still look good too. :)
