Hi all , I'm looking to replace the weather strip rubbers on the tops of the doors , rear quarter windows and the boot seal , I've looked online at the usual suspects but wondered if anyone with the same car as me has already replaced their rubbers etc and what kit they used , where they sourced it from and their views on quality / fit etc - I am a big fan of RockAuto as the postage and UK VAT is paid at source which saves an awful lot of messing around when parts arrive into the UK, however they don't seem to ( currently ? ) stock the parts I'm looking for OR you guys call them by a different name ?

Any help or info greatly appreciated
Many thanks

As a manufacture and a vendor specializing in weatherstripping, I would suggest that the best door seals and roof rail seals or the originals. Unless they are missing, torn or severely creased, I would rather use nice originals. We supply and stock seals from Top Cat Felts, Metro Rubber, Soft Seal and Steele Rubber and they all have their strengths and weakness.
Top Cat window felts are the most correct felts on the market. Metro at this time provides the best fit for the money for the door and roof rail seals. For quarter glass seals, we prefer the Metro brand. For U-Jamb and door end cap seals, the originals are much better than any of the reproductions. The Steele pieces are good and they will cost you approximately 40% more than say the Metro pieces.
I am not sure what you are calling the boot seal, unless your talking about the trunk seal. We have our own brand of trunk seal molded from an NOS piece. Most of the reproductions are too thick which makes the deck lid want to sit high once closed.
If you have more questions, drop me a message and I will try to help where we can. We do stock all of the pieces, but all of the pieces will not be from one particular manufacture as we feel you have to source from a variety of vendors to get the best pieces for your money.

I used metro supersoft for the door and trunk. No issues there, perfect fit. For the smaller door pieces, went with Steele rubber, and yes more expensive, but they fit perfect and cannot tell the difference between the originals and the new ones, they have same steele and rubber construction as the originals. I found out the hard way that some of the lesser products didn't fit worth a damn, and were sent back. So, save your money and purchase a quality product.

I've tried the SuperSoft roof rail seals on several 70-1 E's, 71-2 B's and 70-2 A h/t and have never been happy with them. They are not shaped right to fit the channel. I've used Soft Seal roof rails on all the same cars and they fit great. Hardly have to use any glue for them to stay in as where the Supersofts I had to glue the entire seal to stay in.
The rest of the Supersoft seals and all the Soft Seal seals have worked good. The only Steel Rubber that I've used was the trunk and they were fine.
Just my .02 doing 3-5 cars a year for several years.

Thank you Moparmarks! You jogged my memory, I did use the soft seal roof rail seals, because the metro molded supersoft seals didn't fit in the channel. I got them from Steele rubber, they were the only ones that had them at the time, 5 years ago. I knew there was another name, they were the only ones that fit properly.

Hi all , firstly many thanks for all of your information and taking the time to help me - greatly appreciated .
I have added 2 pictures of the exact pieces I need and will require a trunk seal
The pieces I need are being pointed at in the pictures , thin pieces of rubber at the tops of the doors and the same where the rear windows seal against the body work ....
