best place for body hardware?

R/T specialties used to be a great source. I also have heard of Mr G's fasteners.

I bought a bunch of stuff from ebay and R/T Specialties.

AMK fasteners is where it all originates from. Go right to the source.

I get 90% of my stuff from either my 86 5th Ave or my 87 D100 parts cars.

It's amazing how ,much clip and fasteners are still the same well into the 1980's

...and they're genuine Mopar made in USA parts.

I've even got a few screws and bolts from my 86 turbo Daytona in use on some of my 60's cars!

RT Specialties

When you buy from the Mopar vendors the majority you are buying RT Specialties products

If you don't care whether they look exactly like the OEM then McMaster Karr is the place. I ordered new fender clip nuts, bolts, stainless button head bolts, wire looms etc from them.. way cheaper.

AMK does not carry body hardware for Chrysler vehicles at this time. (As Per a phone call I just made to them)

What are you looking for? I have a bucket of bolts clips and misc parts from a 67 Belvedere I dismantled. I was going to separate and mount on cardboard to post in the for sale section soon.

Hmmm. Looking at the catalog in front of me I see plenty. No kits but lots of fasters and clips.

Mega Parts or R/T Specialties.

As has already been stated, AMK is the source in addition to Auveco and Car Pak for 90 plus percent of the restoration hardware that vendors such as Classic Industries, RT Specialties and E-Bay vendors source their parts from. You cannot call AMK and ask for a kit to install your fenders on your 69 Charger, but you can call and order the individual J-Nuts, body bolts, etc to do the job. That is where vendors like RT Specialties has gone to the trouble and work to determine what is necessary to make a kit up and they source the individual components.
One thing to consider is that some of the kits are far from being correct. This is very apparent from some of the kits sourced through E-Bay. As a vendor for AMK, I have to say that they have the most correct hardware that can be currently sourced other than original pieces or NOS samples that were lunch box hardware.
I have spent several weeks working on hardware kits with Rachael and Heather from AMK and they have always been a tremendous asset in identifying and researching the various fasteners that they have in inventory that was used on the Mopar assembly lines.

My bad, I was making a bunch of phone calls. I meant R/T Specialties does not carry body hardware for Chrysler vehicles only engine and suspension hardware. AMK did have a fender kit but was pretty expensive IMO at 70.00 bucks. Got a kit from classic industries for 49.00.

ummm ....probably any tattoo shop could steer you in the right direction....

I got my 71 SSP as a basket case so I got my body bolts and clips from Fastenal. That way I had new and they were all the same size, etc. They probably wouldn't have specialized stuff, but for the basics they're fine.
