I'm wanting to buy a line lock for my b body , anybody recommend a brand
on ebay they go for like 60 $ , I noticed this warning on a site
Notes: Should not be engaged for more than 60 seconds.
why ??? any ideas

The solenoid that holds the piston in place to block the line can overheat and short out, just had this happen to me.

Yup I have the Hurst roll control....nice setup.

Because a 60 second Burnout is considered cruel and unusual punishment to tires :steering:

Back in the day I ran two Hurst brand LL's for thousands of runs each on two cars. I'm sure none of those came near 60 seconds. My current car has a Jegs brand, works great.

I replaced my Jegs unit with a Hurst because the Jegs had a delay in disengagement. Talk about aggravating!

Interesting. My current Jegs unit releases on time. Not sure if the Hurst units would be the same as the ones from the 70' & 80's, but they worked great back then.

Do these kits come with everything you need or do you have to order other parts to make them work?

I do see some brake lines being offered separately. Are these lines necessary?

Are you assuming that everyone has brake line? I was asking from the perspective that we do not have extra brake line or anything else that is needed to make this system work. If I order the kit then find out later I need something else it slows the process down. That is the reason I asked if anything else was necessary.

I’m assuming you want an answer to your question. So no they’re not necessary if you’re capable of driving to an auto parts store and buying some tubing to connect your system. If that’s not an option then yes they are necessary. Better?

a cutter and a double flaring tool should do it.

I've made my own several times. Unless you are lucky enough to find a good mounting location that matches up with store bought lengths, you probably need to make your own custom lines to fit the line lock in. Custom lines will likely require two lengths of brake line with the proper size fittings for the master cylinder and the fittings that come with the line lock and the brake hose. You'll need a tubing bender(cheap one works for me), tubing cutter, and a DOUBLE flaring tool. Figure where to mount the LL then measure the two tubing dimensions.

I'm going to vegas then renting a car and driving to socal , any good speed shops where I can buy one there
summit is in reno but is there a similar store around
