1970 Coronet R/T Project (Dasfusca's Car)

The hole for the bracket was in the wrong place for the Coronet so I had to weld the one shut and drill a new hole. Then repaint the stupid thing.
I also replace the positive battery cable with a $30 one off of ebay. It looks really good.
I replace the plastic clips that hold the wires and window washer tube. I ordered new spay nozzles too.

The old one looks really nasty.

NEW BRAKE LINES AND FUEL LINES. Got these from INLineTube.com

I am going to clean up and paint the K frame and all the suspension parts before I put in new bushings, ball joints and tire rod ends.

its coming along nicely ....
Thanks. I did not have access to water at the old shop. So since I moved into the new one I was finally able to clean the engine compartment to start prepping for the new engine. I want to do the brake lines and floor patches first and then install the engine. I think I have everything to get it running and moving. I am tired of pushing it in and out of the garage.

I received this electronic ignition distributor part number 3874887 When I purchased my rebuilt motor. I decided to retire the points and go with this one.

It came with this coil.

I purchased an orange ecu box and new wire harness.

I decided to make new brackets for the ecu and the coil. My carb was in the way and I couldnt mount my coil on the intake.
For an ECU MOUNT I used an extra voltage regulator bracket and welded a plate on it. I vented it to allow for air flow. It should ground well. I just don't know where I am going to put it.

For the coil. I tried to buy one of these first but I couldn't find one so I just made my own.

Before I put the rebuilt motor and transmission in, I decided to paint the k frame, front end parts and bumper supports. I cleaned them up first, primed them and used a semi gloss black. Not perfect. I used a paint brush. It is still a huge improvement.

I also finally put on the front bumper guards. Here is a hint. you have to take out the left blinker housing and most of the valance's center bolts. I think it looks more complete. Most all the 1970 coronet sales photos have them on the cars so someone at Dodge must have liked them too.

I welded up the 7 extra holes under the window washer and decided to put the ecu under the battery tray. You can also see how nasty the k frame was before I cleaned and painted it.

BTW: I'll start a new thread before I get extorted by Photbucket. I sure would hate to lose everything I posted. Oh well.

Lemme know I've been following your thread....sad face...

I want to thank FBBO for fixing my broken thread. Now I can get back to posting. However, I didn't get a lot done. I was working on my Dad's car for a little while.
But I did put my car back on the Tilter so I could work on the floors.

I just purchased a super clean 3rd member for my car. It still has the manufacturer marks on it. It's a 3.55 in a 489 housing.
