Hi guys, I'm wanting to replace the carpet in a 73 Charger. I'm just asking for a good vender to buy from. Thank you.

One good source is ECS automotive if they make it for your application. Shipped flat and never rolled.

I wish I had a "good" recommendation....ECS carpet is ACC carpet shipped flat....

The last ACC carpet I got from ACC directly and I just laid it out flat for a month...Yields the same result....

The issue with ACC was the quality of the "moulding" done at the factory...I had to glue areas so it would fit tight and this mainly was the rear piece the front piece was much better.

I also used a steamer which worked wonders after it was installed

I have ACC carpet installed, no issues with it in 4 years.

I used ACC with the heavy mass backing in my 70 RR. Fit very nicely. I got it from Rock Auto, it was the cheapest online. Anyone you buy an ACC from gets it drop shipped from ACC to you, so you get the same carpet from everyone. Get it the cheapest you can.

Another point to take into consideration was that Trim Parts sold off its carpet line to ACC as of October 21st of this year. Unless purchasing from a vendor with a known track record, I would be a bit worried if there should be any issues with the carpet. Trim Parts and ACC are both good companies to work with, but any time your trying to resolve an issue with a product that you did not manufacture or sell leads to possible issues.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look for ACC and who has the best price if it's all made by the same company.

You might want to hold off ordering any until next weekend and see if there are any advertised Black Friday specials being offered for the carpet. I know that Rock Auto has a good reputation for a decent pricing. There are a number of independent vendors as ourselves that have accounts with ACC and Legendary that are able to actually sell the carpet below the prices that they sell the product for.
Also, the carpet is in a rather large box. Currently both UPS and FedX has implemented an approximate 5% additional surcharge for the holiday period for larger packages. This will impact the bottom line pricing, so just because one vendor may have a better price, they will tack on the difference in shipping and handling charges.

ACC is garbage now. Trim Parts is very good quality and fit...
I have to disagree, trim part sucks. Got it for a 66 charger, didn't fit well at all. And, if you've ever bought a carpet for a charger it gets expensive. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

I bought mine through them,it was an ACC carpet, uncut with extra material to cover where the back seat used to be.Am due for a new one and will have someone install it this time. It's an art to cut with a roll cage!

What manufacturer does Legendary use?
That's what is in mine and it's top notch stuff.

May I ask how long did your carpet last before you decided to replace it? Was it due to fading or wear and tear?

Legendary was using ACC and as I mentioned above, with ACC acquiring the Trim Parts carpet line, the consumer now has only one brand to choose from.

Carpet still looks great, installed in May of 2012.The only heavy wear is from my heel on the throttle.

Wife wants me to freshen the door panels this winter and I didn't like my installation when I was half way through putting it in:BangHead:

Not to hi-jack this thread but....I want carpet for my 69 Coronet. The issue is that I fabricated an over sized hump for clearance with a TCI 4L80, tranny I will be using. Does anyone "custom" make carpets that might fit my scenario? With only one major vendor of carpets I may have a hard time finding quality stuff that fits.

Has anyone had experience with Stock Interiors in Chatsworth, GA ?

I am not familiar with a "Stock Interiors" out of Chatsworth, GA. Doing a Google search shows them in Senneca, SC. It may be that they are using a textile company in the Chatsworth, GA. area to do some of their carpet sets. The Dalton / Chatsworth, GA. area is known as the Carpet Capital of the World. Years ago, there was a smaller manufacture in South Dalton that was making some of the more popular styles, but they are no longer producing car carpet to my knowledge.
As for a custom molded carpet for a custom floor pan / hump, then that will require a custom sewn piece.
