November 2nd Wayne is commissioned to sell a very unique 1968 Plymouth Superbird, a vehicle used by the EPA in the 1970s during airplane emissions tests.

Season 9 - Episode 18 : SuperMopar! EPA Superbird & a Superbee

Is it a bleu'ish car? Seem to remeber seeing this at auction a year or so ago. It was a dud.

I just saw the episode over here in Belgium...very nice to see finaly some real American Mopar muscle instead of the costly European cars which he normaly deals in, the brass cars and the 30ies Duesenbergs and Packards.

Very special car indeed, 1 of 1, very well documented. Owner wanted 500K, Wayne says Birds go from 150 to 250K, and they met someware in the middle, so I guess that would have been somewhere 375-400K.
The SuperBee was there too, finaly Roger could start it, Wayne said engine runs great but I thought it didn't...ok, wonder what the owner wanted for this one?

Funny how Wayne is into Mopar’s, two years ago he could care less.

I really think Wayne is over his head on anything newer than 1940's. Now Roger is kinda a cool guy.

Roger is the best part of that show - what a fun guy to watch. It was nice to see the show throw us Mopar guys a bone. Pretty decent episode.

I can tell you this. Wayne is a real nice regular guy or at least he was with me.

About 10 years ago I discovered his show. I was a commuter pilot at the time and I was in the F terminal in Philadelphia Pa. I saw him in the terminal and walked up and introduced myself and told him I enjoyed his show. He asked me if I had time to join him for a drink. Since I was in uniform I told him sure I could get a non alcoholic drink. We went to the bar that was in the central atrium ( the Rock Star if I remember the name right). We talked cars for about an hour. I told him about the 68 Charger that my dad pulled from the junk yard many years ago. He encouraged me to do it. He bought my diet Coke and I went on to my flight.

He was easy to talk to and very down to earth with me. Nice guy.

I had posted about this Super Bird some years ago .

How true, I heard him say on the show once, for a seller to find a mopar person, he wasn`t interested in them. I never liked the show or him to start with, so that did it for me. Just keep flipping channels when I run across his hi priced fantasy land crap.

Mopar sure did have there poop in a pile in that era. Never forget about the ramchargers at the local diner having there coffee and milkshakes talking horsepower that brought us the MAXWEDGE

I'm sorry I'm just now adding in my 2 cents. But, this Superbird is very, very rare and special indeed.

Car Nut, You're so right in post 4. As you said, when it comes to Muscle-cars, Wayne knows very little to nothing. But if it was a Stutz, Packard, or Model T, he most likely could tell you everything you need to know. I met Wayne once for like 30 seconds, he seemed like a guy when I quickly talked with him. I think it's really nice how, he gives to charities like for autism and the Dream Ride.

WileERobby, I'm confused as well, because there is no such thing as a 68 Superbird.
