Hello good ppl's of the B-Persuasion

I am constantly being ridiculed for the poor condition of the (blue) interior in my (white) 68' Charger, and while I may don't care to much abt it's "torn up condition", it's coming to at a, point where I have to do something. If not to the fix the interior, then just to shut ppl up.

The commentry never fails, and I sort of ran out of friendly responses a while back, so to fix both issues, I was thinking about buying a set of these..

Legendary's 68 Charger Rallye buckets - With a matching set of covers for the bench..

Out of respect for the original design, I'd prefer to stay as original as possible, but on the other hand, have never been impressed about the shape of the original seats. They remind me of a fork lift seat, and I skid sideways out of them when conering.

Initially, I wanted to find some newer seats, and have the upholstery done in the original style, with matching pleats and all that stuff. Then, I realized, that newer seats might pose problems with the "classic car tax" here in Denmark, so I turned to the Legendary option.. but I can't find any "reviews", or even comments on these babies... so, I was wondering if anyone here bought them, or saw / sat in them, and have an opinion to share, I would be eternally grateful.

:-D

I also had a look at my coronet, but I did not find the reviews, the good thing about this kit is that it gets full even with sponges, and costs relatively little

I went this route a couple of years ago. Comfort is a big improvement and I like the look too. No regrets.

Thank you, very much.. That's just what I needed. I think I will order them very soon, and yes "Car Nut" & "Cncguy1".. Legendary DO have a sale from now, through X-mas.. until January 8th. I even got a postcard informing abt it, all the way over here in little Denmark.. (I bought from them earlier), and the card even arrived in the morning of "Black Friday", which would have been an amazing achievement of "postal precision", for a economy mail postcard, had it been a "Black friday one day sale"..!

May I ask you Ray, if they were a hassle to assemble..? And did the set include the bracket covers.. and do you remember, if they had the vertical pipes in the seatback, for headrests?

Looking at your pictures, I start to wonder, if I should go with black / black.. (and leave out the silver pleats, which my current seats has)

Thanks again, for sharing your experiences, and pic's !!!

I might have to get some. Do they make them for 69 charger?
Don't think so.. they don't appear when searching for 69 upholstery.. :-(

But if you are changing the rear bench to, you could just go all 68, but someone will probably comment.. ;-)

look pretty good and appear to be functional

I had an upholstery shop install on the frames. They did comment that this was the best kit they had ever worked with though.

I'm not sure what you mean about the bracket covers. The seat back boards were not included though. But mine were in good shape. Nothing was included for head rests either.

Like you, I went this way to match the back seat. I matched the back seat pleat colors. Stock look but better!

Good luck.

Legendary make good products.. I think my seat back plates are OK too, but I sort of hoped that these were complete / new with everything.. Will try to do them myself, and post pic's of the result, when they arrive, and I get them done.. (probably MONTHS from now.. ;-)

BTW.. Something I never understood, is HOW the "door panel uppers" can be THAT expensive.. even after discount, they are still outrageously priced at 1006 USD for a set of 4, no medalions.. It's so crazy, that I'm not gonna do it.. Instead, I will get mine remanufactored another place, for almost half that price.. (and they do excellent work too).. Pictures later.. ;-)

I find that wearing my seat belt tight can prevent sliding around in corners.

Good starting point, but I think I need to drive more "safe".. coz I am always wearing them belts.. but they don't seem to help me much.. I have the stock 2-point lap-belts, and actually, they need to go aswell, as they are very "tired", (and very blue..). Thnx for mentioning them. I bought nice ones from seatbeltplanet, for my 69' 300.. and think I'll buy from them again.. unless someone suggests better ones? (Has to look stock, or I will get fried here for challenging my "classic car tax status")

Sorry, no the hinge covers are not included either.

Good luck. I look forward to your pictures when done.

Thanks a lot! I plan to do it perfectly, but despite the good intensions, you never know what's gonna happen. Time and pic's will tell.. :-D

I have little upholstery experience, but I do have two kids, and a sofa with 100% wool cusion covers, which means lot's of wrestling with the covers. Them babies SHRINK, like theres no tomorrow.

I have a set of new hinge covers, for the original seats, and presume they are the same.

I have a pair of 68 Charger Bucket seats, need restored, missing sliders and 1 seat back
