Let's see your stance/tire combo

rear 275x60x15 with 4 inch bacspacing
front 235x60x15

Please post side shots and list what size tires you are running front/rear. I'm aiming to get my rear low but with a good sized tire and the front end just a bit high, like the early 60s cars were run. These cars look out of place with a forward rake, imo.
It's all about aerodynamics.

This car has a Dana 60. I did order custom backspacing to center the wheels in the opening. 5 1/8 or 5 1/4 if I remember correctly.

I guess I can submit my combo now. Car is nowhere near finished yet.

Cooper Cobras
225/70/15 on 7"w 4 1/4" BS (fronts)
275/60/15 on 8"w 4 1/2" BS (rears)

Did the taypered axel conversion to Dr Diff flange axels and Green bearings, original housing. Had to use 1/4" spacers with the rear wheels. Having a 4 1/4" back space wheel would have eliminated having to use them.

Thought I would add this one

I finally decided to go with 3" inch lowering blocks on the rear instead of swapping out springs. Here are before and after shots of the same car. I like the new stance and the lowering blocks were only $90, vs. $490 for new springs.

Got bored and made some changes:
Front : 15" X 6" (3.5" BS) Billet Specialties Street Lites with P205/70R15 Cooper Trendsetters
Rear : 15" X 12" (5.5" BS) Billet Specialties Street Lites with 29" X 15.0 R 15LT Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R radials.
Moved the rear Calvert mono-leaf springs in 3", mini tubbed the wheelwells (can still put the top down), and used a Moser Fabricated 8 3/4" with an Eaton True-trac limited slip. Really, really tight fit but tires clear...

Old school (60's muscle cars often raked) but I like a slight rise (rear) on the '63 and played with it for awhile (various heights). The fender well cut outs are lower in the car as it is, so if it's pretty level it still gives appearance of lower rear. I put in HD leafs some years back and then last year fabricated shackles allowing about 1.75 in rise over stock. I had air shocks in but the ride was hard. After the disc brake conversion I had to go with 15" wheels and got Coker Magnums 7" with Goodrich radials P235/60 all around. If I would do this again I would go with a wider tire on the rear with an 8" wheel given all the room that remains; but pulled the plug with the heady investment before giving it more thought. In my trials I found a difference with handling if I went too much one way of the other especially dropping the front. As it is the front is pretty close to stock.
