Hi everybody, couple years ago, I purchased a huge lot of Mopar parts. Included were three dashes, one from a 69 Charger RT with a/c, 69 Roadrunner 383, and a 69 Coronet 4 door. My question is, can I sell the dashes with the tags still attached? I know that the cars no longer exist and the parts had been sitting for about 15-20 years prior to me purchasing them. I would like to get rid of these dashes as they are taking up precious space! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Mike

Legally speaking, no...whoever buys the dash must use the vin tag that came out of their car, that the dash is going into. In other words the vin that came with the car must stay with the car, legally. (Plus you don't want to sell some scammer a roadrunner vin that they can use to sell a satellite or belvy as a real roadrunner!)

Edit...technically you could, the burden of honesty is on the buyer, but I would personally remove them, so as not to help contribute to any possible fraud

Remove the tags...

the rest is up-to the new owner purchasers

good luck with the sale

If you know the cars no longer exist, why would you even ask ?

If you want to sell them you can start a sale thread with all the info and pics.

Take the VIN tags off and take a picture of them for historical documentation, (if they are St. Louis or Lynch Road cars, I'd be interested in knowing the VINs for my data bases).

it Would be too easy for someone to swap dashes with vin and “loose” his fender tag. ( got lost during restoration) Not everyone knows how to check body #s to verify. Someone down the line gets burned. Remove the vin tags,

gotta any titles available with those dashes? LOL JK

Remove the tags and donate them to 69Coronetrt.

If you buy VIN tags, you potentially enter the same scenario as buying a car with no title.

How many times have we had that discussion?

I've been able to punch out the rivet center from the back side a few times, and or squeeze the bqackside enough to get it back through the hole.

If you've ever tried to paint a dash, it's a pain, not to mention the cost of those "rosette" rivets.
