Well the flurries that fell this weekend finally drove the nail in the coffin for the season for me and the car is down for the season. It's a sad time but it can also be productive. I have a few projects slated for the down time:

1. Take apart top carb/intake manifold to clean and repaint. I want to replace all the gaskets and vacuum lines. Ever since I changed the carb this summer there has a been a slight high pitched hiss sound I couldn't seem to locate. It didn't seem to effect performance/drivablity, but I want to track it down and fix it.

2. Change out my 2.94 gear in my 8 3/4 rear end with the 3.91 I have ready to pop in. I'm gonna take this opportunity to swap out the axles as well with a set from Doctor Diff with fresh bearings.

3. Remove the interior trim and give everything a good polish. They're in great shape, but need a little TLC to make them pop.

4. Install a bluetooth amp behind the glove box and replace the all the speakers. I'm gonna leave the factory AM radio in place and go for a stealthy install.

5. Replace the lug studs on the front passenger side as I broke one late in the season and they'll be the only original ones left at this point. Better safe than sorry.

6. Pull the gauge cluster and replace the lights. I have one out all the way on the left and they're all pretty dim anyway.

7. Install my Bosch retro tach and engine temp gauges.

How about you guys, what's on the agenda for everyone else? I'm not doing anything too crazy but I like to have a punch list to keep things moving forward.

Drove my 68 Valiant at night for the first time. Need to fix dash lights, interior light, and adjust headlights. Goal is power brake booster, power steering and A/C for it this winter if I keep it. Most likely get to the lights and booster.
The 63 Fury is waiting for me to come up with a plan.....Pro-crast-ination !!!!
65 Hemi Belvedere needs the reverse lights hooked up and a good cleaning under the hood and chassis.
But for me now is the time to get out and drive with cooler temps. It's summer time to work inside when it's 120*+ outside !
Valiant is a must do.

Finish-up installing the new front-end, brakes , wheels/tires on the wagon. Install 66 Charger grill, new A/C condenser, and finish all the plumbing under the hood.

Try to reassembly as much as possible on the `cuda-vert, when it comes back from paint. Basicly...ALL the interior, glass, top, and exterior trim.

Remove and coat all the front and rear suspension from my 72 `cuda S/S car, and hopefully get the "Macomb Missile" livery painted on the sides of the car.
Gather parts for other projects....

I've got the rubber fuel lines off the Charger and installing all factory style bent 3/8" fuel line on my new Quick Fuel 850 from the carb to the pump.

Got the radiator out as well doing a shroud and paint the aluminum radiator black to look more factory. Doing new heater hoses and hose nipples as the others were all plumbed different than factory.

Gotta tear the tires off the beads too and put new valve stems in them as they are leaking and dry rotted.

My runner needs a dipstick which should be a fairly simple deal....."should be"

good cleaning under the hood and chassis.

This is probably gonna be added to my list as well. Sometimes I get a little **** about cleaning stuff and I'm sure once I start tearing about the top end I'll be going over everything sooner or later. Haha.

Quite the list...always something to do.

I'm gettin' old, and this ain't gettin' any easier. Gotta get this stuff done...STAT!!

Getting some damn heat into my shed.. I guess that requires me to buy insulation as well. I have electrical and air out in the shed but heat and ac would be sweet.

It is a rather long list and seems to get longer by the day (for example, when looking for a loose connection last night, a wire broke off in my hand).

Install the cam, timing set, and headers that are sitting on a shelf.
Install power brake booster also sitting on shelf.
Repair fuel leak at the top of the tank.
repaint emblems all around.
strip and rechrome and repaint the rear valance.
replace door cards.
Rewire wherever necessary.
Repair gauge cluster.
Figure out why most interior lights aren't working.

Rebuild rear differential on wife's Land Rover.

I keep saying I'm gonna put a heater in my garage and as soon as the weather gets warm it falls off the priority list...funny how that happens.

Ummmm.....every damn thing.

Seems like that some days.

That reminds me...I have to look at my gas tank as well. When I fill it to the top I get a the tiniest of drips but you can definitely smell it. Drive my wife crazy, but what doesn't?

The more we do, the more there is TO do.

Hope to complete a few things before spring. K frame cleaned up and bolted on. Front suspension back together. Rear end back under the car. Front bumper modified and mounted up. Windows back in. Seats bolted down. Spare tire bracket welded in place under the roadster panel and the divider steel panel welded in place between the front and trunk. Gas tank filler hole located and cut with the filler neck welded in.

I got tired just reading that...good luck on the list.

Just picked up a flipper truck off craigslist. Great running 5.9 Magnum. Needs R&R on the transmission and has a fuel leak. Body is pretty straight. Normal clearcoat fade on the fenders and hood. While trying to figure out what transmission this thing has I discovered why the transmission is such a pain in the *** to find..

Its a 46RH which you can use the tail/gear section to make a 727 into a 518 overdrive.. Probably scarce due to lots of people wanting a OD in the old school cars. That info can be found here.

Working on my 68 Coronet and my dad's 66 Vette this winter. Should be able to get them both done by April!

No project plans for the winter here, just maintenance of the ones I have and take them out on dry days for their exercise.

Just today started to get my 63 Polara ready to sell.
