Installing two Holleys on tunnel ram......the little tab that sticks out on the left needs to come off in order for the throttle rod to work both carbs, should I try to bend it straight or just saw it off?
Six of one, half dozen of another. I'd bend it personally, but it doesn't matter. It must be there for something, but I've never seen a car/motor that used that little tab.
You would usually use the large hole with a bushing, and place the rod assy on the inside of the lever, towards the carb. My friend runs nothing but multi-carb setups, and I have never seen him remove the tab.Installing two Holleys on tunnel ram......the little tab that sticks out on the left needs to come off in order for the throttle rod to work both carbs, should I try to bend it straight or just saw it off?
An engine that might have run on when shut off uses a solenoid to replace the idle screw. When power is removed, the throttle plated will close completely and eliminate the run-on as air is sealed off. The tab happens to be a great place for it to hit the solenoid.
