List of which cars came with heavier torsion bars that will fit onto my '67 Coronet?

The bigger the engine and the more options a car had usually demanded larger bars....heavier suspension all around. Loaded up big engine cars with the trailer tow package too possibly.

How big are you looking for? I have a stash of bars in the attic.....

I've got the torsion bars from my 67 Belvedere - which ones are the ones you're looking for ?

What do you intend to do with your Coronet? Cruising, autocross, dragrace? I’ve got .960” bars on my 65 Belvedere, big block with some aluminum components. A good all around street bar, slightly stiff. Use a smaller bar for weight transfer if you’re primarily drag racing, a larger bar for autocross/road racing. JMO

Just street. Only thought the 440 added weight would require heavier bars.

Still running stock’ Bee ‘bars even with a 440 now installed in place of 383.

Mine had a 318 and will have a 440 so i'm thinking 1.something....?

My car was a big Block 383 car - don't think they have any "stock" torsion bars bigger than that . . .

Here's what I've got . . . the ends of the bars . . .

Is there some other numbers on the bars that I can look for ? ?

Hmm..don't know. They do have paint spots/stripes on them for left and right.

.88 in. Dia.

You can get bars up to 1.220" dia. A set of .960" dia.
Should be about right for normal driving.

Not to hi jack this thread but I have a question to the masters about bars. I am retaining the 383 n my coronet and want to put heavier bars on it to be able to lower the front end and still retain support. I was told this is a way to be able to do that, by putting heavier bars in it? Am I correct in my thinking?
