Recently purchased a 69 roadrunner. VIN shows it as a real RM23 car (true roadrunner). I have tried to decode the rest of the tag, but it is not formatted like any of the decoders I have been able to find on line. Can anyone assist please.

Thank you.

Same as the one Tim sent you. Just curious but have you checked to see if the data sheet is still there?
Where would I look for that? In looking at the links sent, I can not make heads or tails out of what is on my tag and what the numbers/codes mean. The sequence of numbers on the top right of the tag (starting with 9A) are the same as the numbers on the vin tag on the dash (starting after RM23H). I am clueless about the rest of the numbers.

on most of these cars, the broadcast sheet was tucked in the springs of the rear seat bottom

Hmmm does the door match the dash? It almost looks like it had two tags to start with and ones now missing

OK....so by trial and error, this is what I can find out so far.....

I am still uncertain about a couple of the numbers. specifically, the 1F and the M6G (0?). Any idea what those numbers refer to. Based on my car, the decoded numbers above are consistent with the car (although it now sports a 440 6bbl).

That’s a lynch road fender tag. They don’t hold as much info as other cars. They don’t decode quite the same at the top. I use to use andy440.com, but his site seems to be down for me

Lynch Road Tags can definitely be a pain. Coupled with the fact that Dodge mysteriously lost all build record from 68-74 not making things any easier. I’ve been researching my Charger for years and still find new things out. Probably the coolest thing I can tell you is that first number (top left) is the line and door number so you can actually look up what assembly line made your car And the first door it ever rolled out of (coolest thing..... I know I’m a dork about this stuff)

Getting more info. Here is what I know so far:

926 = 383 w/heater, orange (no longer in car it is now a 440 6bbl)
595 = 3.23 gears in 8 3/4 rear axle (no longer in car it now has a dana 60 gear ratio unknown at this time)
93 = 727 torqueflight transmission (correct for what is in car)
1f = Still unkown
F5 = Medium Green Metallic (correct for car)
F5 = vinyl bucket seats (correct for car)
M6G = still unkown
F8 = Dark green metalic interior door frames (correct for car)

From the Andy440 site....the Lynch Road tags are a bit cryptic. The 1F code may in fact be a V1F code (but Lynch Road left off the V) this would denote a green vinyl roof (F=green in vinyl roof color codes). The car does not have a vinyl roof. Are there any indicators I can look for to see that it may have once had one?

I think you can hide it almost completely with bondo my car was a canopy top car and there’s a valley in the roof that was bondo’d over.

So I think the code is fully cracked now.
M6G - M= Medium Trim Grade, 6= vinyl bucket seats, G= Green.

Top row.. two digit GATE number and three digit BASE number. These pertain to the “gate” or jig used to assemble the raw body panels.

Six digit SEQUENCE number. The cumulative number of bodies assembled for that model year.

Remainder of VIN 9A313915. Subtract the sequence number from the VIN to help determine if your car was built “early or “late” to SPD.

Next line: ENGINE, AXLE, TRANSMISSION assembly codes. Looks like you got those.

Lynch Road did omit the “V” in V series codes so a (V)1F indicates a green vinyl top.

F5 F5 is the paint code for the top and bottom of the car. Two tone cars were available so both codes are listed. X9 then W1 would be a black painted top over a white body. F5 F5 means the car was painted all green.

422382 is the VEHICLE ORDER NUMBER
