First Cruise to Bahamas any insight?

Thanks for all the feedback. Went on the cruise and it was AWESOME!! Very inexpensive and had a blast!

Finally got talked into first cruise and did that two years ago after my wife and oldest daughter took one year before they said was a blast. It was since we ran into a storm one night after midnight with 75-80mph winds. The captain warned us earlier in the day that we would encounter the storm. The ship was swaying like nuts, cabinet doors and drawers flying open, stuff sliding off the tables, etc. My wife has never been sea worthy and was hanging on for dear life white as a sheet so thought it would be comical to start singing the Edmund Fitz tune. Sheeit she didn't find it humorous at all! My other mistake was spending too much time in the ship's casino...my suggestion...stay the hell out of there. Wife hasn't suggested another cruise so far.

"too rough to feed ya-been nice to kow ya".

After being on 20 cruises, one of them a few yrs ago stopped in Nassau, Not impressed, really nothing to do unless you go to the casino, they have a good restaurant and the aquarium is nice but other than that, I would stay on the boat unless you dive

Wife and I are about out head out for our first cruise and our first time to the Bahamas. Got a screamin deal through work on the Carnival Sensation mid september this year.

Anyone been or have any insight?

We are traveling with another couple (good friends) that have been but was hoping to get more than just their perspective on it.

I hear the locals try to run scams on you in Nassau......other than that not too much drama....

Anyone?

Thanks in advance.
Unless you're a complete moron and don't know your *** from a hole in the ground, you're going to have a great time. Been to the Bahamas 4 times now. I love cruising, especially on Carnival. Been on 9 cruises with them. Never a complaint.

Do not repeat that do not leave the ship at night to go into town under any circumstances….
I've never been on a cruise ship that stayed in the Bahamas overnight. What cruise line were you on, Steve?

That's cool bud! I don't think you should worry to much about locals your not exactly a little guy that can be pushed around ! But everyone tries to get your money I've never been but my wife has been and she says it's great and has been hounding me to go ! Have fun !

I wasn't on a cruise ship in Bahamas. We stayed in a resort near Nassau. I did cruise Bermuda on a destination wedding and this past late summer did a Disney cruise in the Mediterranean which was great. Flew to Barcelona and got the ship there and made stops in Italy and France.

Got it. Your comment has nothing to do with the post..."First Cruise to Bahamas any insight?"

Man, this is an old post. I need to pay more attention before I comment. It's Dennis H's fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
