Oregon now lets you pump your own gas

We got a full service station here in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and they sell only 100% GASOLINE, no ethanol. Only a few cents more per gallon. AS a matter of fact we have several no ethanol stations. Now if I could get that kid to understand that with the short fill pipe (62 Dodge behind the license plate) he can't wait for the automatic shut off to shut off the gas.
 
When i pumped gas as a part time job it was 1968/69/70. While we enjoy reminiscing of the good old times and how things were different just remember this. Most people i served were white, some blacks almost no foreigners. I could not begin to tell you how many times people tried to ripe us off by saying they didn't want a "fill up" after the tank was filled, or when you pumped five gallons they said two. it happened all the time and the manager rigged up a device to drain the tanks of there cars while measuring the amount. Trying to get over was common
 
So I called some friends in Oregon and they tell me the pump your own is only in towns with a population under 40K..... Start small corrupt officials..
None who I talked to were pleased with the change.... Fuel prices have gone up since .... LOL
Boy do times change... Growing up in Eugene years ago, that population edict would have been almost every town except Portland....... LOL
 
Why would fuel prices go up when you don’t have to pay someone to pump the gas?

Ain't that the truth! Being very conscientious, I have problems with not overflowing the "behind the license plate" fuel tank filler necks on the 70 Roadrunner, but even more tricky on the 65 GTO. At least there's no paint on either car in that place for gas to spill on.

Because when the OIL companies and your GOVERNMENT legislatures ( who shoved this down Oregonians throats) tell you self serve will "lower gas prices" what they mean is it will lower the cost to sell it for the manufacturers.....

It is a political decision that made the changes,
their state & their people voted it in or the politicians in to office...

In BC that was a problem now it is prepaid or no gas

So car nut, you think the people that work for free pumping there own gas are smart people???
 
Title should be changed to " Oregon now MAKES you pump your own gas, even though 75% of the voters said NO"
