So, car has got a new FiTech EFI, and installation is almost complete.

BUT

I've been trying to figure this out on my own for a while. Car has a throttle cable with fastening clip like this one

On the old carburetor there was plenty of room to push a bolt through from the backside and lock it down with a pin, making a good fit. But on the EFI throttle body, there's no way I can come with a bolt nor screw from the backside of it.

Throttle arm on the EFI unit looks like this:

No room to come through from the inside.

Are there wire ends that you could screw onto the EFI arm that would accept my cable? Or do people fabricate something on their own? Or should you replace the entire wire? Help!!!!

This may help, also search fitech efi there’s a lot of good info here

Not sure if this helps, I used a lokar throttle cable on my Holley 750 and it just swapped right over to the fitech. Wasn’t an issue at all.

I`m running a 1200 cfm throttle body, its just a matter of putting a carb. stud in the appropriate hole and adjusting the stock cable. It`gets harder w/ the higher u go on the intake, u might even have to make a link, but it`s no big deal ! If u can blow my avatar pic up , u might be able to see it.

Are the fitech units' holes threaded?

Can one point me to a place that sells studs like that?

---------------holes not threaded.
ebay ! A lot of old carb. parts , even the bigger bungs that fit the I`/2" hole can be found. I have even bought them from jegs in the past. Keep looking, a combination of parts will work, just have to work the travel out to reach full throttle. A lokar type kick down can be made to work w/ anything too.

If all else fails, loosen the nut that holds the throttle arm to the shaft and pull the arm away from the body far enough to insert your bolt from the back and then re-tighten it. I've done it and it's not hard... I would recommend getting a bushing from Summit or Jegs and using the top hole. The spring pressure of the FiTech throttle body is pretty hefty and the farther from the shaft you connect, the better the ratio is.

Thanks. Since I'm a complete moron and have to spend like 50 bucks on shipping every time I order from summit - can someone dig out a part number that is 110% the right one?

I'm thinking you will be using the hole half way up the side of the linkage? it is similar to the generic linkage arm on most aftermarket carbs and EFI now days.I think if the arm was rotated a bit you'd be able to install the pin you want. there are some extremely short cable pins for the Mopars. I have one that is very short that the outside has only a ball for linkage arnm that could be removed. if you think you'd like to try it- its a freebie. Geri
