$5 timing light!

I couldn't pass up this timing light, it was only $5 at a local flea market. Its newer than the all metal case version I still use from the 80's, but I thought what the heck, it uses the same plugin cables as mine so I bought it, and it works great. Now I have a spare!

Bingo . . . my dial on the back timing light quit on me, so I fell back on my spare hook up to the spark plug timing light while I was working on the dial on the back light - got the timing set.

Found that a connection in the inductive pickup was not properly connecting and got it fixed . . .

NICE to have a secondary backup ( you never know what's going to happen - and ALWAYS when you need it ! ! ! )

I don’t have a spare but I have the same chrome timing light I bought back in the 70’s. Still works like a charm. Sounds like you got a steal...

My dial back will not work with multi spark so I picked up an old chrome Sears timing light. Works like a charm. I enjoy old car tools!

Yep, I got a craftsman chrome one just like in my picture of the $5 one except all metal and chrome plated.

Same here. Don't know how I lived without one for so long. Sold my old chrome one.

I have the old Chrome Sears Craftsman also that I have had since the 80's. I sometimes wonder if it works correctly but have checked it when comparing to some of my buddies big dollar snap on timing lights & mine still seems to be spot on.
