Does anyone know if the shoulder belts used in the bucket seat cars were the same length as the ones used in the bench seat cars. Digging through my parts, I found an extra shoulder belt that has a part number on it 2953961 and a date code of 1968-4.
I compared that shoulder belt to the in my Charger and it looks similar, but has a different number and it is about 3-4" longer than the one in the Charger.
Could the belt be maybe for for a B-body bench seat car?

Can you post pics? I don't think I've seen pics of original shoulder belts.

I am considering putting modern belts in my car.

The difference is likely between a 2-door and 4-door car, not bench versus bucket.

Here is a picture of the 1968 4th quarter shoulder belts. On contacted a friend who has a 1969 4 door Coronet and the shoulder belts in that car are # 2945155. Maybe the longer belt # 2953961 (the one in the first picture) is for a C-body?

I have a whole box of belts for 67-68 if you need anything checked
black and dark green

Can someone post a picture of a 68 charger shoulder seat belt mounted in the car, I am missing mine. Wonder if they are worth purchasing. I have hardware mounted just missing the shoulder belts. (Blue interior)

In all the many years of making seat belts, I’ve not yet run into a difference between a bench and bucket seats, as far as shoulder belt length goes. The length is different for a wagon, but I’ve not yet seen a length difference between a bench and bucket seats. Best of luck, Bill Edwards
