Anyone else having this issue? I got these from Classic Ind to keep that "original look" under the hood, but these things don't grip well at all. The lower rad hose was leaking at the pump so I added a hose clamp to it. The upper was doing fine for a while, but now the hose slides back and forth a 1/2 inch on the rad outlet and looks like its about to blow off! I am using a aluminum rad. Should I emery up the outlet? Or should I just dump the spring clamps altogether?

Are you sure your outlet size on the radiator the same size as a stock outlet?

the upper rad hose is 1.5 in and the rad outlet is also 1.5 in....it fits tight when cold, but at temp it gets loose and starts to slide back. Hose gets pressurized.

Mine seal fine.
Don't remember where I bought them.
This reproduction stuff is hit and miss as far as quality and fitment goes.
You may have to try another source

Lean toward the clamps if the hose fitment was fine....

I would order a set of clamps from RT Specialties or Mega Parts....you can just buy the ones you need....CI was not a good choice for hardware etc of any type....

I had the same problem with lower hose on my bee with a 440 using spring clamps from year one. A Old timer told me to use 3M black weather strip adhesive around the neck of radiator and pump housing with a little bit on inside of hose. Sure ****, that solved my problem while retaining original look

I ordered a set way back to use on my GTX and after messing with the upper and lower radiator hoses I chucked them in a drawer and used regular hose clamps. The spring clamps were oval, bent incorrectly and they were so stiff I wouldn't doubt that they would deform the heater core nipple.
