I just look at a my factory 1964 Price and Equipment Manual and I'm not seeing a battery spec.for the B-bodies. I did see that the Taxi and police cars cam standard with a 70 amp-hr battery. The 1964 Factory Parts book lists the 70 amp-hr as a group 27 battery and it shows as "optional".
The New Yorker and the Imperial models had the group 27 as a standard battery.
I will have to go out and check my tray now in my 64 Belvedere. I have always thought that a GP 27 would not fit in it. Maybe I'm thinking of the A-body tray.
Been years since 66 Belvedere been on the road but iirc, I ran a 27 in it. All of my vehicles have the same battery in them....95 Dakota, 97 2500 and the soon to be gone 2000 Durango.
