I'm interested also and have sent you a PM. The paint looks like A9 Charcoal Metallic which maybe wasn't an option on the Charger in 72, which might explain the 324 paint code.

I agree. LR coded GA4 as a color so this car is not GA4.

I’ve seen three digit paint codes that were non standard colors. I don’t have another example of a Special Order color from 1972 LR to compare this tag to.

Apparently, The “G” sunroof VON trumps a special paint “J” VON.

Very cool car and interesting combination.

I too would be very interested in seeing the BS.

Its an interesting car and in no way am I suggesting anything about the seller, but badges have been known to get stuck lots of places, like R/T badges on 73 SE cars, just sayin.....In this case, "original" paint underneath just means that the badges were put on after the paint, which could have been 1972 or 1992. The lack of a paint code is interesting though, although 324 could be a mis-stamped GA4. I have a car that has an "unknown" code when decoding the fender tag that is one letter off from a 'known' code that would be present in that spot. However, the build sheet contains the correct code. A build sheet would of course settle both of those questions for this car.

That switch posted earlier looks like a sunroof switch.

Does it still happen to have the asc plug in the roof for the allen? Our 72 sunroof 72 cuda does, very neat if this charger did.
Your car is awesome by the way bigs.

Not sure if they differed, YY1 but that doesnt look like an ASC sunroof switch, however, I can only speak to 72 e body tho Im pretty sure they were the same.

This Charger was just sold at the Ben Snobar Estate sale last summer. There are others on this website and Moparts that know about the car. It was purported to be a factory special paint color.
It only brought like ~$800 at the auction.

So bought it from the buyer, but I don’t know what they payed or that it was a special paint car. Though it was gunmetal, but I guess it could be charcoal grey someone mentioned before.

Thanks for all info/speculations, but is anybody interested in giving it a home?

ILL check the sunroof for the button next week as I’m working full shifts into next week.

Jeez guys, is this a sale thread or a chat room? Comments and chit chat in a sale thread is against sale rules. Pm the seller with questions.

Going to close this ad for the time being to investigate this car further. I would like to gather more info and offer to the board later on for the restoration archives. Thank you to everyone for your info and support.
