Well its been a little while since I've been on here, but have had quite a few things to do since Summer is only here for a short time! But, I did get my tags, Ins, new v/c gskts, an oil change and hit the road on the 65's Maiden Voyage. That poly sure runs strong! When I pulled the v/cvrs, I was so surprised at how clean they and the rocker assy was. I feel so good about this car being kept well and in good condition. I had to put the exh tips on since there was the skinny 2" exhaust pipes and glasspacks put on before I got it. But all in all, it sounds ok for now (not a fan of glasspacks) Anyway. I got some pics of from the 1st ride, 1st show (I got a plaque to commemorate it) and one of my 1st Cruise In with a long time good buddy Ray and his super nice 68 Dart GT/Conv/360-6pack/727.

Nicest Gauge I could find to fit the cup. Wow does this thing have high oil pressure! It was cold, but it was like 85deg outside too.

Well, seems I will be strokin the ole 383 now since I found some pretty worn out bearings in my attempt to install a new rear main seal. This still had rod bearings stamped from 1970! as you can see, they show pretty much the condition of the crank as well. Anyway, I will look to get it off to the mach shop, get it prepped and bored. I'm looking at the 438 kit from 440Source. I don't need super horsepower, but with just under 500hp, it would suit me for a nice street driven BigBlk car which is what I wanted. So I will just go ahead and put the Dual Quad setup on my Poly for this summer and have a good time with it while I put my BigBlk back together. I know with the extra time I will have now (instead of rushing to get the motor swap done) I will be getting some more nice parts for it that I wouldn't have normally done. It all works out for the best when you are forced to take your time.

What carbs are you going to use on your Poly?
I plan to use the new Edlbrk I have and another that Im rebuilding rite now. Both 600s. I know they are gonna be a little big, but looking at a cam profile change too. We'll see how it goes.

Congrats on driving the car. I've had mine over 2 years and still not on the road..
Thanks, I have been without a HotRod since selling my 48 8yrs ago. I know the feeling of having one that takes up some time to get together and seems to never get finished. That 48 was in my shop for 5 yrs. I kept finding something I couldn't leave alone, and had to replace or rebuild. But it was a nice build for me. Taught me a lot about patience! Hang in there, you will be glad you did!
