For those who have a 62 polaras. In the picture I posted left of the steering wheel is an empty whole in the dash. The whole is between the steering wheel & E brake release handle. Is there something missing or did someone just drill a whole there.

I have nothing there and have never seen anything there. The e-brake light goes under the dash a bit. Good place for a manual choke cable, fog lights switch, siren. I used a bracket under the dash for my choke.

That little black looking thing just below the E brake handle is that the light your talking about ? If so my dads doesn't have one. I googled 62 dash pictures & seen something in that whole but not sure what it is.

Found it

Sorry can't help myself, but that is one of the coolest dashes ever!

OK here is what I found out after further investigation. Only convertibles have something in that whole. It must be the switch to open the top

It's actually a red lense that lights up when the E-brake peddle is down. Part of an optional light package including the glove box light and trunk light.

Did a little digging. In the service manual there's this picture with no mention of the switch.

Didn't Plymouth share the same dash frame ? They reconfigured their knobs differently than Dodge. Could have been swapped before you got the car. Just a thought.
