Just curious really...

I hate paint jail!
By the way your a freaking beast with a welder man! I would never touch a project like this doing a full blown restore is one thing but grafting a 40 some odd year difference cars together man what a job. I thought about a similar project I found a rolled over Mitsubishi 3000 gt vr4 twin turbo awd . Cheap low miles I had my brothers duster that just let the /6 go in it. I looked and said I got torches and a welder .I probably could of pulled it off but I was much younger and my welding experience wasn't up to par and I decided for safety reasons I shouldn't try . I could one day after my backs fixed

Sorry guys, never got a notification of replies to the thread. That being said, paint jail with no parole. Being told a "few months". This is what I got from the shop last week:

couldn't they at least cover up some of the car without getting body shop dirt all over that sometimes is the hardest to get rid of when done  it's going to look very nice when done

Okay, a few pics didn't show.

Back to it. Now to tie the firewall structure to the RR. Again, in layers, for strength:

An example of the layers here. Tying the LX structure to the box beams and RR cowl and door support:

And working the front. Was trying to keep the original core support for a little old/new continuity, but in the end just wouldn't work. Did manage to use the top:

First order of business is to replace the front frame rails. Remember the frame shop got them in the correct position, but they are pretty mangled. Couldn't replace until I had the structure in the jig:

And make a place for the fenders to mount and closeout:
