Just got my first B body mopar the other day. Its a 66 coronet 440. Car has a bunch of mechanical work already done but the body and the interior definitely need some love. The seats and rest of the interior are worn but not ripped up so I will put that off until the body work is done. Now with that comes big problems. It seems no one produces the grille, full quarters, trim, etc. I see they sell the wheel arch and then sell behind back tires which is doable but just sucks. Any help on where to find sheet metal is appreciated. I was looking at classic 2 current for the body panels and they look decent. What is everyone else's experience?

dont know who makes them but i had lower quarters for my 66 charger but they were not good so becarefull what you buy

You have bought the bastard child of the Mopar world! The only grille piece anybody re-pops is the hood trim. I'm unaware of any repop side trim, rocker mouldings or full quarters. I've got 2 '66 440's and I've had to rely on ebay, facebook, swap meets and the Mopar sites for parts. I just got a new Classic Industries catalog and they now sell some of the trunk trim - good luck!

Grills come up all the time, I've seen several on FB mopar clubs.
Sheetmetal is another story...check Sherman, Golden Star....

You found all the sheetmetal available. Not good but it's something.

No sense restoring what everyone else has. If this was easy everyone would do it. All the parts are out there and can be found. Tony's Parts has a lot of the pieces. A word of caution: when you remove the grill screws from inside the fenders, spray break away and don't break those delicate little clips...those you'll struggle to find.

I am from SE Iowa and this is the only 66 I have ever seen in my area. I know they are not completely easy to restore but I love the 66 and 67s more than I do the 68+. To me they are way more rare and cooler. This restoration will take years but I fricken love this car. I will buy what I can when I can. I will check out Tony's parts.

That is the reason I like the car, because it is different and even mopar guys which is a rare group don't have these cars.

There are two threads on here where members used patch panels.

The results look pretty good.

Tell us more about the car.....

It really is the car that started the "look"...in my opinion.
Do you have any grill at all?
I probably have 4-5 complete grills, but being aluminum, they were easy to dent. All the ones I have will need love, and maybe that won't be enough to make a "good " set. If you have nothing, I can pick out a set from my 66 Coronet inventory. To help you out $50. Please note : there will not be any of the delicate little clips I mentioned earlier, perhaps you have them still on the car.

250 is cheap compared to some parts dealers (cough, cough).

These always get the crap beat out of them on the fender edges.

I personally LOVE the roof line on the 66/67 hard top cars.

...and all the razor straight horizontal body lines, and the Coronet only quarter bulge and vestigial fins.

I love my 66 haven’t ever seen another one in vegas you can find all you need it does take some time but dont they all good luck with your project make sure you post lots of pics

Congrats on the 66,
Keep track of the for parts for sale listings here & Craigs list every now and then in Ia. you will see 66 stuff in the C list parts section and at times a 4 door sedan will slip through their listings.
Quad cities , Des Moines , Omaha, ect.
I was in Lincoln NE. this past sunday at a swap meet and seen a few 66 parts { no grilles } , they are out there. The hunt is part of the fun. Im 45 miles west of Des Moines and will pass on to you any info I hear of on 66 parts.

The car has a grille but some one painted the grille black. The edge piece that goes on to the fender they self tapped on so there is no clips either. I ended up buying the one off ebay for 250. It needs some love but its complete and a decent deal from what I discovered.
