Need to buy quarter panel skins for my 69 sport satty which ones are the best to work with?? I know AMD is 350+ shipping a piece is it well worth the money??

AMD is pretty good but check the swap meets this spring unless your in a hurry.

I did full AMD quarter panels on my Charger. I thought they were good. The shop doing my car is mounting them now and had to do minor trimming, but nothing major.

i have mixed feelings on AMD. I used one of their quarters on my dart and it was WAY off. over an inch short in length front to rear. That said, I think they are the better made metal than the others.

and if you're in Alabama, then AMD is a no brainer for you. Stephen's Performance carries AMD stuff in stock and it's in Anderson, AL.

Bet you can pick the stuff up and save 200 bucks in shipping.

AMD's and others are what we have......They all require a certain fitment and a lot of finishing......Skill level pays off here....

They are not a simple weld on and prime and paint...none of them are.....

Thanks

MN74....lol

I couldn't agree more. I probably have 3 hours into file fitting the top of the 1/4, couple hours of tig welding and than hammer and dolly work.

And the critical part.....is at least we have something available.....

The chevy and ford guys deal with the same things.....no different so it is not brand specific....

The cost to even produce these we are lucky to be able to buy them so cheap IMHO.....

And some complain about the prices of these vehicles today. Imagine what the prices would be if there wasn't so-so repops out there to bring back so many cars that would have otherwise been scrapped.

Be happy you have a car or two and some halfway decent parts to bring them back to a presentable condition.

We could all be watching auctions to see the cars we love instead of going out to the garage.

Yeap back in the day we had to rip off sheet metal of a nice base to restore a car......

It kills me when they complain about a nicely done car that is priced right but to them it is a crazy price....Well, go spend over 30k for nice paint and body work. Then come back and tell me I was wrong.....they have no clue and it is not a 30 minute episode

yup....... totally hit and miss...... I got some nice pieces for the 70 I'm working on, a nice surprise! ......... I don't mind making the stuff fit, I just hate it when they come in wavy

Also Gobie no matter what brand, set your fenders , then doors {with hinges in good shape}get your fender to cowl gap set, then door to fender & B pillar gap then start fitting the qt with just a few tacs to hold it , then try the deck lid and check those gaps before welding to the wheel tubs ect.
Check , Check, and triple ck.

all of that ^^^^^^^^ .......... also, door parallel with rocker
