A buddy of mine is rebuilding his 69 RR 383 and was wondering what guys are using for break in oil. I don't know so I thought I would ask everyone here.

I'm assuming flat tappet motor. Driven BR and Lucas break in oil are the two I have used on solid tappet engine rebuilds and both cams are still alive.

I use Driven BR (Break-in) oil with good results.

My cam is a solid flat tappet.
All good so far with the brad penn. removed the inner springs and made sure all the pushrods were spinning before initial start.

I’ve been using driven on my flat tappet engines.

I have heard that kendall in Pa is making all the better oils for everyone now. I remember years ago when i started in the chemical business and visited the Mobil oil refinery in Paulsboro they where packaging almost every brand of oil for the major suppliers. Just putting each companies label on the various brands..
